All your roster members are interchangeable. You know that hype video that shows Shawn Michaels spinning that transitions to Kurt Angle spinning? That's your roster. You just have bodies to fill roles. And you just know if the Rock called them up and complained that this second cousin's wife wasn't pushed, she'd start getting a puzh. This. The WWE doesn't make characters anymore, they make archetypes that they foist upon talent so they can deliver pre-scripted promos and catchphrases that don't get over. Wouldn't you know it, when talent has a say in something, it tends to work: DB with the Yes Movement, Becky with the whole "The Man" character, etc.

Naomi is pretty forgettable and doesn't really deserve much. Nobody buys a ticket to see Naomi, not a soul. She's a capable hand and inoffensive. But she's a meddling forgettable mid-carder like the majority of the roster.

That “There is no buddy system... There is a buddy system.” U turn, was some Rick James grinding his feet into Eddie Murphy’s couch type shit. Except Rick had the excuse of doing all the cocaine.

Naomi had a pretty funny response to this. Sasha also tweeted some support telling Naomi to basically ignore the opinions.

Okay, on SD she can go over Lacey Evans in a rematch and win in 3 minutes. What does it really matter? Naomi isn't especially talented or anything. I'd probably just make her a valet for the Usos.

Also, I know a lot of this board doesn't like Naomi for some reason but her entrance video from the Rumble got more views than anything else WWE put out that week (or was it month?) and a viral hashtag started over her fans wanting her to get more of a chance. So like...this is probably worth a shot. I think a lot of people are either overlooking or actively ignoring the context in which this hashtag came into existence. Her last two weeks have consisted of a karaoke contest that seemed straight out of the Divas 2009 playbook, and then a follow up match with Lacey Evans that went three minutes and had a finish that made her look like a total dumbass, and some even took as racially insensitive (a lot of people using the hashtag were not fans of Naomi's hairstyle being used against her like that). Nobody is saying "give her all the belts Triple H style." They just want her getting air time that doesn't make her look stupid at some point this year.

“Man, I hate hashtags” says a man who probably would have appreciated one in, say, March 2003.

There is NO Buddy System. However, there IS a “No Buddy” system. Murphy found that out the hard way.

Look, I'm not a huge fan by any means, but let's face she has had a very solid fanbase for awhile and is one of most athletic people in the company. Now does that merit title runs? I mean.... They put the world title on frigging Jinder Mahal. At this point, I say ride the hot hand, they've sure as hell have had worse champions in the recent past.

I am not personally a Naomi fan,but the truth is based on on the fan reaction at the rumble and the consistent reaction she got pre covid then based on the "merit" of crowd appreaciation she more then deserves better treatment then she has gotten booking wise. Doesn't matter if,me you or Booker notice her lack of in ring psychology, the average fan has warmed up to her in a way they haven't to some women who might be better workers or better on the mic.

Like, literally no one thought Zack should get the freaking WWE title or something. But dude did deserve to be a semi-prominent featured midcard talent that always had decent storylines. Naomi, like everyone on the roster of course, deserves storylines that aren't f***ing stupid. #StopGivingPeopleStupidDogShitStorylines isn't a catchy hashtag though.

If someone is over enough with the fans that they can collectively, loudly say she should be in a better spot than she's in what more do you really need? If wrestling is any kind of meritocracy based on the work one puts in, that's gold. Booker's point only makes sense if you assume that in reality no, fan reaction doesn't matter, it's what the office thinks of you. ANd obviously that's the reality in WWE, but he's not supposed to just go and f***in' say it.

Naomi had a pretty funny response to this. Sasha also tweeted some support telling Naomi to basically ignore the opinions. I mean, she can take offence, but he was offering some advice alongside and with some crazy Booker style ranting. He wasnt being malicious as far as I can tell, so I dont know why she felt the need to give him some attitude back.

Yes but based on your posting history you would make all the women someone's valet and none of them would ever wrestle.

He wasnt being malicious as far as I can tell, so I dont know why she felt the need to give him some attitude back. He didn't really give advice, he said that she'd be better off if he trained her--while also implying that as she is right now, she is undeserving of a prominent position. "Make your own breaks and rise to the occasion" isn't advice, it's a motivational poster.
