I really enjoyed it. It has a ton of heart and the art style really grew on me.
Funny to think that two of the best new Trek shows are essentially a spinoff featuring most of the crew in "The Cage" and a loose Voyager sequel made with kids in mind.

For the most part, I think all the new Trek content has been pretty good. Prodigy, Lower Decks, and Strange New Worlds are my favorites, but hell, I even liked stuff about Picard S1 and the first couple of seasons of Discovery.

I don't think there's been any outright bad shows yet. Uneven, most definitely (Picard in particular), but nothing terrible. I'm excited to see what comes next.

Decided I felt like getting around to watching it tonight. Just wrapped up episode 8 and so far this show is so weird in that a lot of it feels like an educational show but it's like specifically an educational show designed to teach you about Star Trek lore. I'm actually really digging it but it's definitely a strange beast.

I'm actually really digging it but it's definitely a strange beast. That’s what I love about it, really. It’s a show kids can sit with their parents who love Trek and get the jist of a lot of stuff without having to go through the older stuff first and the parents essentially getting a Voyager sequel series which, I cannot stress enough, you couldn’t get me to be interested in before Prodigy. And it also makes sense for the plot of the show; they’re a bunch a misfits gathered from a mining planet (their actual origins of how they got there not clear until season two) hijacking a Star Trek ship wanting to be a part of Starfleet. Outside of actually doing a Starfleet Academy series, that’s, like, the perfect concept for something like that.

Just got caught up and yeah, this show is damn good so far, very eager for season two. Just feels like such a love letter to the franchise, and I really love that they went out of their way to reference Threshold. Would've been kind of annoyed if they didn't.

Me right now;
Seriously, what the f*** happened, man?! And it’s not even the only show, there’s, like 3 other P+ shows being yanked and cancelled.
Just…rewatch the clip above. I’m pissed.

What annoys me the most about it is that this was a very well done gateway show to Star Trek. A show so influential in that, Disney basically stole the concept for its own gateway kids show.
I love Strange New Worlds and Lower Decks and even seasons of Discovery and Picard but none have really done the balancing act of keeping into continuity (and making me genuinely appreciate Janeway as a captain in retrospective) and introducing concepts easily to younger viewers that this one did. All of the shows I mention rely on you knowing the source material or getting why it’s happening from past seasons. You didn’t even need to watch Voyager to follow the real main story of the season. It just really irks me, man. Unbelievable decision making.

Apparently the chatter is that Paramount+ is in general hemorrhaging money right now and they're kind of just looking for anything to cut costs they can. My guess is this'll end up happening to a lot more shows very soon. ... Please let us at least get the next Lower Decks season first.

So Star Trek Las Vegas is ongoing and despite it not having a home yet, they showed a clip from Episode 1 of Season 2 which you can see here. If you want the abridged version... {Spoiler}{Spoiler}{SPOILER: CLICK TO SHOW}They're met to be taken to their new ship by The Doctor (basically confirming Robert Picardo's return to Star Trek) and that new ship they'll be on to take a look at the wormhole from the end of the last season? A new Voyager!
