The thing is, even if one believes that more female talent on Dynamite itself is a potential ratings risk due to their (current) perception by the audience, the whole point of a show like AEW Dark should be to experiment and see what talent works in what role for segments and interviews. And we're not even talking particularly deep angles here. Here's just stuff off the top of my head
-Tay Conti and Anna Jay have differing approaches with trying to recruit for the Dark Order, and their individual as well as shared tag matches reflect this, with the former trying to be friendly and professional while the latter tries to intimidate and compel other competitors. Perhaps eventually they clash over this.
-After a loss when teaming Penelope Ford (with Kip Sabian's help) begins belittling and bullying Leva Bates with her eventually finding a male wrestler to team with against them and maybe even shedding elements of the Librarian gimmick.
-Allie is resentful of an NWA talent like Serena Deeb being featured on Dynamite and starts calling her out, with her in ring protests leading her to fights with the likes of Mel and Shanna when she interrupts their matches and interviews.
Again, none of this stuff is particularly great, but it at least it starts giving people directions and a chance to actually expand on their personalities, which they could safely do on an online program like Dark.

Well we are getting there with the women. You have the the Jade/Brandi feud adding Swole, Nyla, Serena, Velvet, Ivisse, and Diamante. You have Britt vs Rosa and you have Shida vs Abadon.

Add the investment of the girls getting a lot of time and reps on DARK and it has been getting there They need to worm their way into hour one again, but it's a start to get multiple storylines in, and have them happen on a consistent basis. It's very refreshing to see Shida on screen every week

For the record, no problem with the Abadon squash because, well, she’s sort of still new to the audience so you need time for her to establish her gimmick. Tasha was also the right person because she made her look like a killer.
Just sort of wish there was another women’s match or a promo somewhere. Not that there isn’t stuff going on, tag match is a good step if they have promo time on the show and Shida’s post match did the job, just need a bit more here and there.

Yeah, kind of the case where it's still paltry, but at least what's there has substance. That's about where we are, and this was a major step back from the last three weeks, but it at least doesn't feel completely hopeless like it did circa September. The fact that everything tonight at least had forward momentum is good, and I can appreciate that the Shaq thing is likely a lot of money going to promoting a women's match (it certainly engenders more good faith than many things they have done with women's booking).

I mean The Shaq segment was technically all about Brandi and Jade, even though Jade was more involved later trying to take Red Velvet out the same way she did Brandi, but it was nice to see them use Shaq to throw viewers and looks to a women's feud, even if some people don't like Brandi it's still the women.

To "slightly" compare it to the "other show" NXT had a segment with Io/Storm with them brawling and setting up matchups down the line Storm/Io, Io/Ember The women (and men) got mic time talking the War Games match. Indi and Candice were in the Gargano segment Scarlett got a segment with Finn Raquel got promo time. Main evented against Ember Moon and then ended the show with a staredown against Rhea AEW is taking steps up even if it is baby steps but as said a bit more is needed here and there

Oh yeah, if they’re not going to have Shaq wrestle, I can very easily see a scenario where he’s managing and being the hype man for Jade. My own booking has Kenny Smith being the hype man for Brandi’s team which is why nobody will ever hire me to book a company.

Like, I get why they did some stuff on the show but I couldn’t help but wonder whether something with Vickie and Nyla would have been slid somewhere building to the ambush on Red Velvet or a Serena Deeb promo or Britt Baker calling out Rosa, just stuff here and there that wouldn’t take much time if you’re not going to have another match.

They're clearly getting there with Baker/Rosa, Brandi/Jade, Nyla/Sicaria's vs Deeb/Swole/Velvet, the investment in girls like Hirsch, and Abadon vs Shida. It's getting somewhere, which is good, somewhere is better than nowhere, I just hope they keep it up.

If they want to establash Jade as a threat, she needs to squash Brandi, so she goes away for a few months to get rid of the stink(bad booking), besides the face/heel flip flop turns, Brandi has the issue of her feuds ending in flat fashion

Just completely different issues. Even if they had all the ready woman for that amount of feuds, the nxt girls are the main draw of the show. They arent on dynamite.

But tag teams aren’t a group that has had problems with equality in the sports and entertainment world, I think that’s why it’s an issue here. Giving the women 5 minutes on the show and the men the rest is a bad look no matter how you slice it.

Keiko is one of my favorite performers on the show and she isn’t even a wrestler.

I saw Abadon for the first time. I'm hooked on her already.
Little sad that the only action the women got was a squash and a couple short backstage segments. I'm a big fan of modern women's wrestling though, so I'm always wanting to see more. I'd rather see less Bucks and more women.
Also, Shida looked awesome coming out in the T shirt with the cane.

I really think they're waiting for the second show to come so they can shine more of a light on the women.
