I can’t believe this thread is almost 6 months old, then again I feel like time just floats randomly now. Seriously though, they have some great talent but they need to actually DO the work. It’s so frustrating because it just feels like this whole time they only have a women’s division because they’re worried they’ll be labeled as sexist kinda like how it feels with ROH. I don't think they're that bad, it's just been their confidence in using the girls in terms of the depth they had. In getting more depth and girls like Britt coming back and improving in ring even, it's helped them seemingly want to use more and more girls and showcase them more, making DARK a feeder system for reps and win builds and Dynamite a showcase for the more top girls of the card as it should be. If it took them getting Thunder Rosa per the NWA Partnership to get their shit together and the debut of Jade Cargill I'll take it, at the very least we now have multiple concurrent storylines featuring over a dozen talent at any given time (Brandi vs Jade, Vickie's Vicious Vixens vs Deeb, Velvet, Swole, Rosa vs Baker, Shida vs Abadon, Tay Conti and the Dark Order when they touch base with it again) The hesitation to get into a rhythm with the girls hurt them, but now it finally feels like a roster taking shape and forming a pecking order, which they need and have needed since the pandemic started and gave them some real shit luck. I hope this trend continues.

Good DARK development for the girls tonight by the way King vs Shida was great. Abadon took out Shida, escalating the world title feud. Conti had a good match with Freya where she basically chopped a big tree down Ivelisse has been looking better and better as a singles option and also alongside Diamante Leva's working out a good niche of being not the greatest worker in the world but being technically savvy enough to get herself wins Anna Jay's still great, Dani Jordyn might be a breakout star next year. Happy to see a bunch of good women's wrestling reps for the division. Now can they bring Bionic Beast Jenna back?

I've said it multiple times and I still think this stands, I believe AEW had all intentions of having the women featured early and often but hey heavily misjudged the capabilities of who they had signed in terms of being able to go in ring. That is on them and there is no excuse for that. It does seem like AEW is more focused now though on finding younger female wrestlers with talent and having them train with Dustin and wrestling on Dark to develop them. Frustrating for fans of women's wrestling, but at least they are investing time

Brandi Rhodes- Bombes Nyla- Green Shida was still not fully comitted. There was pretty much only Riho as a really good member of the roster

Things are really looking promising for the future.
Shida/King was a very good technical match which could've easily went in Dynamite. Nice story progression between her and Abadon as well.
Anna Jay and Dani Jordyn had a pretty good match
Tay Conti looked very impressive and is showing more heel tendencies. I want to see her and Anna team up more in tag team matches.
Ivelisse looked strong as she has been these last few weeks. I like that her and Diamante play the bad cop and badder cop well.
You can see the potential is there. I feel that 2021 is going to be a real breakout year for a lot of these Women and it's going to grow to be the best in time.

Still cannot fault someone for wanting to take care of mental health. The Allie stuff always confused me. She has always been a great character worker but iffy in the ring so the fact they expected her to be a pillar was always a miscast. Britt and Nyla were not ready for those roles. Britt has developed as a heel, and Nyla is developing but I get the sense they still are not ready to fully commit to Nyla for whatever reason. I'm shocked they never gave Penelope more of a shot as she was coming off of a lot of momentum from her indy run but she has had some issues with sloppiness. I actually don't think the plan was for Brandi to ever be a top competitor but due to need it kind of happened. But from what I gather Dustin is now in charge of scouting and training women for AEW while Tony brought in Rosa and Serena to assist

Awesome Kong on training, and Leva Bates on scouting, as far as I can tell. Kong was listed as a coach and Bates as women's talent relations.

Kylie Rae I think is going to be one of the great "what if?" stories for pro wrestling. She had an infectious personality, amazing charisma, and lots of talent in the ring. Sadly, her mental health just got in the way of what felt like her inevitable success: first at AEW and later on at Impact. Now she's out of wrestling entirely.
I really feel for her and I'm rooting that she's able to conquer her mental health demons. I know firsthand that's not easy to do.

I struggle daily with mine and I'm not wrestling on television and dealing with the strains of wrestling in this atmosphere. I can't imagine how difficult it was for her.

I am pretty sure Kenny was in charge of booking or he and Kong were.

Sicarias jobbing was dumb imo, and Swole is already starting to feel overpushed.

Sicarias jobbing was dumb imo, and Swole is already starting to feel overpushed. That wasn't a job, the match was even and they lost to the top contender and a champion. It was also the first time La Sicaria's have lost in months They were teasing Swole vs Deeb in a title match, since Swole's still number one but Shida's facing Abadon next. Would be a good way to get Deeb over frankly to beat Swole

It was also the first time La Sicaria's have lost in months They also haven't been on Dynamite in that time, having lost to another thrown-together team in their last appearance. I dunno, it's just weird to have the faces beat the heels in the first match of a feud that looks to have legs. This seemed like a clear opportunity for Ivelisse and Diamante to get a dirty win, which would have served the same purpose as the beatdown (motivate the faces to keep going), potentially set up a title defense for Deeb, and made Ivelisse and Diamante look like a threat to chase. But then, Dynamite in general has been big on heels getting wins in big faction brawls but losing two-on-two matches. But that's usually when the faces are an established team themselves...

AEW horrifically overdoes it with the whole, "The heels lose then do a beatdown afterward," thing. That can work sometimes but they use it so much that it just comes off like 90% of their heels are completely incompetent and all of their faces are idiots for never seeing it coming.

I'm sorry, I hate coming back here so much but it really sucks how Shida is being used. Not even on this week and when she is on it's a 30 second promo or a minute long segment. It just flat out sucks

I didn't get to watch this week yet
I like what they been doing in pieces the last few weeks but is Shida on back burner again?

I didn't get to watch this week yet I like what they been doing in pieces the last few weeks but is Shida on back burner again? She at least has an ongoing feud that has progressed logically and with more than two story beats, which is a marked improvement from how she's been booked for most of her reign. Still getting about the same amount of on-again, off-again screen time.

I really don't like that You feature your champions every week with promo time and a match or at least one of those options is getting signficant time but Shida isn't put on that level Her and Abadon had been good cause it was an improvement but they don't seem to take those positive steps forward to the next momentum

Also not factoring in how well they've built this on social media where a lot of Shida's selfies have had Abadon in the background stalking her in some way and she's been unaware until she posts them Shida has a match on next weeks Dynamite, which will probably lead to another Abadon conflict, and I assume, a New Years Smash clash on one of the nights.
