I mean it probably wouldnt change mine, because I already know Rosa can put a banger with anyone that is remotely good.Unless she REALLY blows it out of the water.it would need to be much better than your usual Big Rosa match.

Britt is pretty solid nowadays.

The list of women better in the ring than her in AEW is pretty extensive, but she is great at character work...so it doesn't really matter. I've said it before, though: She only really has short matches. Can she produce a quality 20 minute PPV title match? Can she do one of those with someone who's not much better than her in the ring? I really hope the answer to both of those is 'Yes' but we'll see.

Yeah it sucks but if it gives new talent opportunities to get themselves on tv and get over,I can't really bitch too much

In Jades case it will depend if she is decent in the ring, Velvet will have to carry her hard.

I don't want to be "that guy", but Red Velvet is one of the best looking people on the planet, IMO, and a really good worker. She's always getting better, and she has potential to be a star. People are hating on Shaq (even though he's playing a heel and getting new eyes on the product everytime he's on), but obviously both Red Velvet and Jade are getting some shine off of this, and anytime women, and especially women of color, get put into positions to have success, I am all for it.

Agreed on all counts. This angle is hard to watch for reasons that aren't the fault of the talent, and I'll grumble about that bit, but I can bear with it knowing that it ends well no matter how the match turns out - the intergender tag match means that no matter who wins, it'll be somewhat inconclusive and can build to another match, presumably giving each of them a big win that is meaningful (since one will have the first win in the big celebrity match, and the other will win a blowoff match).

I think people hate the angle becasue Jade is being overpushed, while Red Velvet started from the very bottom of the barrel, working her way through to the top and Brandi being pregnant was a blessing in disguise for her. If someone else was featured instead of Jade then the reception wouldnt be bad imo

I don't care about the Shaq stuff (although I'm glad he's a heel, celebs almost always should be in my opinion), but Jade has a lot of presence whenever she's on and Velvet is due for a push.

I'd say yes and no. The angle is absolutely hurt by one of its key wrestlers being someone who came straight out of the Nightmare Factory without even a squash match, so we've got a complete mystery box of a wrestler getting hyped up for this match. Doesn't help that she debuted on the mic, and sounds like, well, a beginner who has been thrust into the deep end without being enough of a standout to be ready for it.

But also, I don't see anyone else being able to make this work much better. A veteran who's good on the mic wouldn't really be much better than Jade: having to shoehorn Shaq references in is going to be rough no matter what, and making a big to-do about a debut match would be a pretty lackluster motivation for someone who was already known from elsewhere. Like, at least all of the pageantry is adding up to a coherent characterization (a bully who demands more than she has earned)...I feel like this would honestly kill a veteran coming in, whereas a rookie can at least go up from here.

She has had all of three promos and a segment "breaking" Brandi's arm since being introduced months ago, and zero matches. Can we dial it back a tad?

She's being featured a lot, like getting interviewed on AEW's podcast before she's done anything yet. I don't think of her as overpushed, but I get where that could rub some fans the wrong way, being shunted right into a program with Cody, who is one of the most important people in the company. It's a big investment, so they definitely want her to be somebody.

For me, I think the issue is more that the angle doesn't make a whole lot of sense. I am not sure if we're supposed to have any sympathy for her and Shaq, who seem to be mad for literally no reason. Jade broke Brandi's arm. Why? Brandi had the nerve to... do... what'd she do, even?

Brandi with her cast threw water in Shaq's face after he condescended to her and claimed she should "learn" from Jade, a woman who hadn't even wrestled yet and broke her arm. Am I supposed to have any sympathy for Shaq after he was a patronizing dick and got doused for it?

Then Shaq and Jade act like Cody's ducking them because they're entitled to a match with him because... why, exactly?

I'm sure the actual match will be fine. Red's got fire to her and a lot to prove. Jade's presumably been putting training time in for them to go this hard in with her, so she should hopefully be fine. Shaq's old and huge, so he probably has janky knees or back, so I don't expect much, but he'll be a decent enough novelty. Cody obviously tends to be good at adding sizzle to things, so I think the match will probably be perfectly competent. I just kind of want to get it over with.

That looks good for Velvet. She's getting better and better. Giving her this spotlight really made me more interested in the angle. I haven't hated it like a lot of people, it's just kinda been there to me. Nothing super bad but not really all that good either. But now it's finally starting to feel more like, this is all about Velvet and Jade and getting them over. Where in the beginning I thought they were headed to like, Cody vs Shaq, celebrity deathmatch nonsense. They seem like just the vehicle for the story now, which is better.

Jade main strength so far seems to be her presence, why not have her appear at Inside the NBA? NBA fans should definitely like her in several aspects.

Madi the only Thunder Rosa student not booked for next weeks card, Is it too early to assume she got the Clutch Adams treatment?

Hard to know. There are absences on the two-week pair of cards, like Anna Jay, Nyla Rose and Big Swole. (...a Swole vs. Madi match would feel kind of weird to post right now even if Madi is still in good graces, tbh.) But, we will likely never know on that one unless someone says something directly. If we next see Jazmin Allure and Vertvixen traveling with a different Texan, that will be as close as we will get to confirmation.
