I hope AEW spends some time hyping up the Japanese side. It could work as a great way to introduce new wrestlers.

Since I have DDT Universe, I'll be quite pleased if the Japanese bracket is mostly at Tokyo Joshi Pro shows...but I'd be thrilled to be surprised at some unexpected entrants, too.

I would really love to see some Joshi matches outside of this Tourney as well if AEW can swing it. So when the Pandemic lifts realistically, you can bring some girls over to the US in an easier fashion who will have some built in records that matter. That's basically what they're already doing with the Tourney itself (Four Joshi with at least one win), I guess we'll have to see.

I'm kind of amused that she has an expression like she's not sure about this. It's a good look, though.

Looks like a darker look. Maybe a heel turn? Could be a good direction for her

It's from a photoshoot last year, she's wearing her black Stardom gear.

Excalibur confirmed on DARK tonight there will be a Japan Bracket and the tournament is going to take place over the next few weeks, so I assume after Beach Break and The Final might be at Revolution, either that or the winner fights Shida at Revolution.

No guarantee, but TJPW has a big show on the 11th and DDT/TJPW usually make big announcements at live events so if they're involved (likely) they could possibly announce any participants/events then.

For what it's worth ODB also seems to be hanging around AEW per Sammy's Vlogs. She brings her Food Truck there.

Like, ideally they would have signed Martinez but I’d say if there was some kind of long term trainer role in the future that WWE offered, I couldn’t blame her for passing that up. It’ll be interesting to see who ends up in the tournament. Just from pure speculation, I think we’re close to Khan going mad and just saying “Bring your best to our tournament, Impact”.

Red Velvet is now number 2 in the rankings, Rosa 3rd and Tay 5th.
Did they give up on Swole already? She was 2nd for several months and then poof gone.

I doubt they gave up on her entirely, but some time away from the title picture will do her good. Feels more like taking advantage of the annual ranking reset to push new challengers to the title - keeping Swole highly ranked indefinitely is just going to make her wins look meaningless if it never translates into anything, whereas Velvet and Tay at least have the appearance of upward momentum right now (IE, winning a lot is an improvement in standing for each of them). Also keep in mind that all of this is based on ridiculously small amounts of data thanks to the small amount of screen time. Swole was toward the top for months, sure, but that really only meant that she had three television wins of any substance (one of which was the terrible handicap match that should never have been booked, one of which was the first Rebel match that was hardly impressive). The rest were squash wins, losses to Nyla, and a loss to Shida. It said more about a lack of depth than about who was and wasn't being pushed.

She hasn't wrestled on a consistent basis since the new year started, she's only had one match. When you do that in AEW you drop in rank, unlike the others who have risen up recently, they've all been on a consistent schedule and have been on hot streaks lately. The Rosa/Baker match will have huge ranking implications.
