I grew up on WWF and wrestling in general in the mid to late 80s all the way up to now and of all the tag teams to come through my favourite was always Demolition. I just loved their look, the face paint and the way they would wrestle in their matches. Also that theme song they came out to is about as Iconic as a theme can get.

It's a shame Eadie and Vince ended up at loggerheads as they did, since that absolutely screwed with their potential legacy, but they were a fun team.

Fans still remember them fondly and both guys are pretty popular on the autograph and shoot circuit. Even though they don't trash talk (those type of guys get the most shoot pay days) they seem to do quiet a bit of shoots. Both guys had or have, Ax is retired, full time jobs for years and have strong family relationships so legacy is probably an afterthought. As a fan it would be awesome to see them on a Raw or HOF ceremony. Their time to come out with the leather and studs would have been best long ago though and that would have been really awesome to see on a Raw reunion.

Their promos were super intense and pretty hilarious. Smash’s over the top facial expressions made it even better.
Amazing music, awesome team. One of my favorite teams ever, the pop they got by beating the Colossal Connection was insane!

So much to appreciate for me
Their original music without the lyrics which I actually prefer to the lyrical version The music video from Piledriver The running gag of Ax calling Gene "Howard" in the local promos in 87 The angle with them beating down Haynes/Petera/Boone Them fighting each other at the Rumble to get over "every man for himself" Trying to get over Fuj the Stooge as a name The pop they got for winning at WM6 Ax at Survivor Series on his last night without the hair slicked back looking bored

My appreciation for them has only grown as I get older. They were a big powerhouse team that could have great matches with any tag team. Rockers, Harts, Brain Busters, Road Warriors, PoP, anyone. For my money, maybe the best power/brawling tag team ever.
Even after Ax was gone, I think Smash and Crush had potential to keep the team relevant for a long time. Crush added freakish strength to the team and Smash was just becoming better and better as a worker.
There's a house show match between Smash/Crush and LOD that I recall where Smash actually did a plancha! It didn't look very good, but I was none the less impressed. LOD might have been bigger names and been more physically impressive, but their WWF run doesn't touch Demolition's.

Grew up watching them squash jobbers like Dusty Wolfe, Ricky Ataki, and oh so many more.

Before Vince asked McDevitt to take a massive blow to his credibility, they used to show Wrestling Challenge on Sky Sports and they showed a lot of Demolition squash matches and to my 13 year old self, they seemed like the coolest damn dudes. Came in, wrecked shit and left.
I can appreciate the Road Warriors and how important they were to the industry and they were blatantly a rip off in SO many ways but man, Demolition were badass.
They replaced it with WCW Power Hour post lawsuit and they showed a lot of Doom matches. Doom were freaking cool, man.

They always felt like LOD rip offs..
Axe seriously looked like someone’s uncle got lost in a S & M club.

I loved their promos. Ax’s gravelly voice was awesome, and Smash gave the gimmick 1000% “WE’RE GONNA RIP THEIR ARMS OFF! AAAAND THEN WE’RE GONNA RIP THEIR LEGS OFF!”

I feel like their legacy should be viewed much better than LOD. Demolition got screwed by management. LOD worked another 8+ years on and off and in between coming and going in different promotions due to Animal's injury and Hawk's issues almost always screwing the team they wound up being embarrassed by two guys who were destined to be career jobbers if not for the Attitude Era making them stars. That's on them, not management. I know Animal and Hawk were like brothers but I can't help but feel if Animal had a better partner the team would have done much better through the 1990s. People crap on Jeff Hardy, Marty Jannetty, Sunny, Jake Roberts and Scott Hall for their addictions but Hawk was no better and yet fans deify him for some reason.

I think you can make that argument. Demolition were in my childhood the first heels that were so cool you'd cheer for them any way. They were so great and dominant, awesome look, great theme song and they just pummeled the piss out of everybody.

I'm not familiar with them first-hand, but I really admire the fact that any time I talk to someone who watched during Rock 'n' Wrestling but not much since, they always seem to bring up Demolition unprompted as a high point. Not Warrior, not Hogan, not Macho Man - Demolition.
(There's a similar thing with Attitude fans and the Hardy Boyz, actually.)
That alone gives me a huge amount of respect for the guys.
