Ain't gonna happen but if it did look for WWE to bend over backwards to convince everyone that Randy Orton was the biggest star in the last 15 years We all remember when WrestleMania 23 was main-evented by... No, Cena... No, Batista... No, that guy... No, Benoit... The Great Khali vs. Kane! I suppose Lashley vs. Umaga was the main event. That's right, Lashley vs. Umaga. Don't ask why that match was so high profile. Oh, it was IC champion vs. ECW champion dream match. Yeah, that's it! No other reason.

Ridiculous. Cena is done with wrestling, and even if he wasn't he'd be coming back to bury whoever WWE is pushing at the moment (Keith Lee, I think? I don't watch them anymore) instead of working for a promotion he has no connection to at all.

Cena is a WWE lifer and is trying to make a name for himself in Hollywood, there is no way he jeopardises that by wrestling. The rock cost a production millions by working Mania and getting hurt, we won't see a repeat.

I doubt Cena ever shows up to wrestle in AEW. Besides, I think he might technically still be a part of WWE's roster.
A cross-promotional stunt that has to do with his show on TBS? A far more likely possibility. Like maybe he and Cody do a tongue-in-cheek ad together for both their new shows.

If he does appear I assume it would be for a short stint. I dont necessarily want him in AEW but I would be curious hoe he would perform in a non wwe enviroment.

There's a bigger chance of Marko Stunt squashing Lance Archer and Brian Cage in a handicap match than that ever happening.
Would be interesting to see Cena in a Non-WWE environment, however.

Cena would be more than likely to appear as he now has a show with WarnerMedia, but I do not see that turning into a match, even appearing would mean a very strained relationship with WWE. Then again, he's very outside the WWE bubble now, he might not care as much about supporting another brand.
That being said I don't expect this at all.

Isn't Cena hosting a show on TBS?IF it were to happen, maybe it would just be a cross promotion to get that show more views. Either way, I don't see Cena wrestling full time for any company since he probably wants to focus more on his acting career. Yeah, I think this is the likely source of the rumors. One rumor I heard is that Jericho helped him get the hosting position as part of the larger deal with AEW, make of that what you will. Don’t much buy Cena needing Jericho to help him get a hosting gig(or any other gig really). That said, nothing in 2020 would surprise me anymore. Cena is set for life already so if he wanted to come in for a high paid run to do something I could see it. Not like Vince wouldn’t take him back like he’s taken all of the others back. Don’t think it will happen, but would make for some fun backstage stories for sure. 🤷🏻♂️

They advertise it during AEW on TNT, sneak one in during NXT one time, a bunch of places take clickbait approaches to it happening, there we go.

Gunner will get repackaged as Jock Weiner, a blind marine gimmick "I can't see me!" and then after Cena has a hollywood hit a couple of years later Vince gets on his hands and knees to beg John to turn up for his HoF induction.

I can't imagine this but let's continue the thought. When Rock went to Hollywood he was kind of brushed aside by the WWE. They thought he'd fail and come crawling back and that they'd actually be able to sign him for less because he would be more desperate. They did the same with Batista. At no point did they really help promote anything by either guy outside of the WWE bubble. Maybe Cena is feeling the same thing being directed towards him right now and he's a little frustrated that he gave so much to the WWE and now they aren't helping him at all to promote his new stuff.
I doubt he'll ever wrestle on AEW but I could see him showing up to put them over or do some kind of promo for them. And it'd be huge if he was on their show doing basically anything with those guys. And AEW is so well run that there'd be something in the ring that would get a younger guy over and probably a backstage segment or two to get someone else over.

I want Cena to wrestle against all of my favourites and help AEW take WWE's spot, it's only good for the future. I seriously want to believe in this rumour! #CHAINGANGSOLDIER

Can't see it happening but weren't there rumblings that Cena and WWE have had a strained relationship for a while and he only did Mania as a favor?

The guy seemed to love wrestling so much that he's definitely either too banged up now or just lost the passion for it.

So, on the one hand... that seems about as likely as Steph confirming the Macho Man rumours, ya know? I just can't see John Cena doing that. On the other hand, this year has been so ****ed up that... sure, why the hell not. And I got ocean front property in Arizona From your front porch, can you see the sea?

If Cena did a guest commentary bit on Dark, he would wake up the day after to a seven figure offer from the WWE to never do it again. Not to work a match for the WWE, just to appear every couple of months but keep doing what he's doing otherwise.

The guy seemed to love wrestling so much that he's definitely either too banged up now or just lost the passion for it. Hollywood as a big problem with wrestlers going back to wrestling after what happened to the Rock the last time he faced Cena. Since he got hurt and delayed filming, they told the Rock to not do it again. WWE got lucky that they got Batista for the match. It's almost for Rock and Cena to really have matches and take legit bumps, they would need to clear a year, so IF they get hurt, they can recover but I doubt that would happen. Cena is a WWE loyalist. Yes if Cena DID appear it would be huge for AEW. Cena is a big name regardless. I doubt he would do it, even for a truck load of money.
