My first thought on seeing this was oh AEW must have something big planned on October 28th, since NXT have pretty much spent a year trying to counter program whatever AEW do.
However this time it looks like it's just NXT trying to do something fun so fair enough.

So they spend 12 years do everything they could to destroy a company, buy the IP on the cheap because of a shady deal, sit on it for 20 years, then when they're trying to hurt a new company they use that old IP to go against it, especially knowing one of the people running the new company's Dad helped created a lot of the IP... and that's worth celebrating? That's what hot on the streets, exploiting IP made by people who you helped put out of business, and 20 years later using it try to hurt other people's business? Please, don't complain about them taking their Twitch accounts or leaving wrestlers high and dry in Saudi Arabia, you support that corporate vulture who gives a flying f about people and wrestlers mentality. Dusty had nothing to do with the Halloween Havoc name. The first show ran while he was in WWF.

This one, unlike Great American Bash, Starrcade, and War Games, wasn't created by Cody's Dad. Havoc was created by people that Vince used to book house shows on the same day they would book house shows, Vince would tell buildings not to book them, Vince would run free shows on TV the same day they were trying to break into PPV, the company who Vince would, if he couldn't poach the talent, create knock offs of. Yeah, someone else created Halloween Havo, someone who Vince tried very hard to run out of business.

And because he competed with and bought WCW, fans shouldn’t be happy a cool PPV concept is coming back and fans will enjoy it?

Fans shouldn't enjoy a corporate raider's exploitation of a 20 year old IP of a company he helped run out of business, putting 100s of people out of work. Especially if that IP is being used on a show anyone objective knows is on cable only to hurt another competitor. Fans will enjoy it because they love the fruit and ignore the poisonous tree.

That commercial also made Shotzi look like a STAR. They've got somebody special there.

A Papa Shango appearance is a necessity. With Robert Stone trying to recruit him and getting a curse put on him.

By expanding his company, has Vince also created more jobs? Something to think about. But I think we’ll have to agree to disagree here especially when you’re using words like exploitation for them running a fun themed episode of a TV show.

In the interest of keeping up Halloween Havoc tradition there will be a big rematch of a famous classic encounter and it will be horrible. Melina vs Fox 2

Halloween Havoc '89 theme is probably one of my favourite ones ever. I have (and still can) listened it on repeat half a day.

Vince McMahon didn't run WCW out of business. Come on. WCW was mismanaged and Turner didn't want wrestling anymore. Vince was the final nail in the coffin, but that place was always going to die. Also - Vince has employed and done more for FAR more people than the "100s" you mention there. I agree some of their practices are predatory (and that's an issue with the whole industry), but getting mad at them using Halloween Havoc is very, very low on the list of things to be mad about. Finally, of course NXT is there as counterprogramming against AEW. What do you expect them to do? They're running a business.

Man, it's a shame we likely won't have Kross or Scarlett for this. Or Tegan as Lady Kane.
