God, I miss the old style of draft of just, "Interbrand matches, winning brand gets a roulette graphic then a person comes out and does some poses." Vastly more interesting than this drawn-out faux-sports bullshit. Hell, even the Shakeup was better than this crap.

Why would FOX want to draft Retribution after what they did to the ring on their show?
Like, I get they’re in the pool but that seems like something they wouldn’t want at all.

Nah, that stripped away any and all pageantry and purpose; peoples' music hit and they said "I work here now" and that was just about it. It was the least engaging or interesting way to handle any of it, at least the sports presentation is a presentation at all. |

That whole 2 pick/3 pick thing is still dumb. It makes sense for setting up the core rosters for the shows, but any time after that, it's just further bleeding out the Smackdown roster by sheer numbers. That's just math.

Week 2: Rah-Rah Brand supremacy yayyyyyy!
Week 3: Bi-quarterly semiweekly Brand-to-Brand invitational
Week 4; Survivor Series, the one single night a year when the brands interact!
Week 5; .... who cares, open invites for all

I guess this also answers the question of "is NXT going to be in the draft?" I expect some to debut because they became free agents or they will spring it up as a surprise announcement during the shows. I would honestly be surprised if we did not get even just 1 NXT debut on the main roster especially on the womens side of things considering how dire it is on the SD side. |
