So I decided to begin watching The Simpsons right from the beginning. I'm in season 4 now, making good progress thanks to the episodes only being 22 minutes long. It really is a testament to the quality of the writing that I am still laughing at jokes I've heard and seen dozens of times over the last 30 years. Also fun seeing the first appearances of the side characters and charting their development.

I've been doing this on and off for a few years but I usually tap out around season 10. The Quality starts to dip.

I'm determined to make it all the way to the "end" and watch the entire series. Mainly want to see how long it takes me to do it.

Yeah, those classic seasons still hold up. Even though I know what jokes are coming they still make me laugh.

I've been making my way through the earlier seasons for awhile now. I'm on season 8 which may very well be the last great season.

I think I also stopped watching originally around 2000 to 2002. I did watch the movie though and liked it. It is also a testament to the writing of the first few seasons that it lasted considering how awful the voices were. The actors wound up finding the right way for it to work but those first few episodes were "yikes" to me. I liked Walter Matthau but I didn't need him to be a part of this show.

Said it more than once, the end of "Homer's Enemy" is the end of the whole show

Honestly, I don't have any preconceived notions about the "bad" seasons so I am curious to see what my tolerance level for them is.

Thought 29 was down. Enjoyed last season and 32 so far. Character voices are getting rough though

Though it is an easy job, I doubt any of the cast are really eager to leave.

I say it like this.
1-12 is good 2-10 is great (S10 has its stinkers but there's also some great episodes) 3-8 is god tier
