Enjoying this Classic PPV review miniseries of the last WCW PPVs so far, fitting that the final Classic PPV review of 2020 is going to be the last WCW PPV: Greed.

I wonder if he'll review the final Nitro as well.

Man 2001 wcw feels like a hidden dimension of wrestling. I'm so unfamiliar with all of the stories.

I will say, as much as I remember how much of a shitshow WCW 2000 was, The Magnificent Seven stable I had completely no recollection of...so what do I know>

I've never ever seen this and I must say as much as I hated all that crash TV with infinite run-ins, today it seems like a fresh take on wrestling. Amount of electricity that both wrestlers and fans release even in defunct 2001 WCW makes me sad how no one can replicate that today.

I just recently discovered Zane's site, pretty good. I like how he breaks stuff down he's usually on the money.
This and the Sin review were good. WCW 99-01 is so bizarro. As bad as all of it is, it's a fascinating little era.

I remember Christopher Daniels and Michael Modest having a match on Nitro in 2001 too, the one where Daniels brained himself attempting a springboard move. It was pretty good, until it got ruined by Scott Steiner showing up and walloping them both for no reason.
This was also the era when Nitro and Thunder were taped together, hence the one set design for both shows. Imagine buying a ticket to sit through four hours of that shit.

Hey, there used to be the Super shows that had Raw and SmackDown taped back to back during the 2000s. Remember that.

On WWE Network, most of the Thunder episodes of that double taping era (Oct. 25, 2000 - Mar. 21, 2001) are shown as if they aired live. As a result, they are missing almost everything besides the matches and in-ring segments. WCW apparently waited until Tuesday/Wednesday to add the backstage content in an effort to shorten the Monday live events.

There's something I find just agonisingly sad about the demise of WCW. Moreso than any other company that's tanked. I can't quite work out what it is.
