You know when the love is fake and when people are clout chasing This ain't it. The wrestlers and everyone involved loved this man genuinely When someone in wrestling dies, you usually see the guys they rode with or their partners or whoever say some heartfelt stuff, and then lots of smaller tributes from people who want to be respectful and have no ill will to the guy, but also didn't have too much to say. With Brodie, we're seeing those rare, special people who left an impression on seemingly everyone. That's a rare kind of person. It brings to mind Shad, someone else who people didn't know was so widely loved until he was gone. There aren't very many quietly respectful tributes to Brodie going around.

I am down on WWE for stuff, for a variety of reasons, lately, but I am glad they're seemingly quite sincere in their mourning of Brodie. Shit obviously didn't work out, but the grief expressed by the wrestlers to Steph's tweet about the two of them connecting due to being dedicated parents, it does feel earnest, and it's appreciated that they're not throwing a fit about the frank discussion about someone from AEW. This is, and should be, bigger than companies. I think this was a real perspective putter for a lot of people both in the business and fans of it. Opinions, criticisms, grievances, etc aside about how we feel about a company, a show, or how some wrestlers may act at any given time irl... this is the kind of thing that really shows not only how much of a family mentality wrestling has, but just how much we, as fans, love these guys and girls so much. I don't know if anything from the business aspect will truly change, probably not, but, I know this is going to be a wrestling death that will change how some people may act, may be around each other, for some it might be a hard wake up of reality that a man they loved in his prime physically with a loving family, and friends up and down this business, is no longer here anymore. The last 24 hours show how truly united the world of wrestling can be, and it's a very powerful force, and a very poerful love. It's a family, a family that fights a lot... but when the chips are down, a hell of a f***ing family, as Mr. Brodie would probably say.

RIP way too young.
Odd question but remember in the Wyatt family he had a bald spot on his head, then in AEW his hair was much thicker, was the bald spot shaved or did he have work done?

When Steph said they bonded over their kids you knew what type of time it was. These are personal stories people are sharing from a ton of individuals which shows you how down to earth he was. As Tony Nese said, hopefully someone makes a book of these tributes and give it to his kids one day to show good and beloved their father was It is spooky to see wrestlers like Himura, Shad and Brodie pass away so young. Shad gave his life to save his son. Wrestling has dealt with some pain this year not even talking the pandemic which itself is heavy but just colleagues and friends passing away. This is really the first time this generation (over the last 10 years) have seen this many notable deaths compared to the previous and attitude era

I'm wondering about starting kind of a memoriam thread listing everyone in wrestling who's died in 2020, but I'm hesitant on it because 1), I'm sure I'd miss someone, and 2), there are no assurances at all that this will actually be the last one. This has been an especially brutal year.

I haven't seen such a widespread outpouring over a death like this in a very long time in the world of wrestling. I feel like if social media had existed when Eddie Guerrero passed, this is what it would have looked like. Brodie was a special person... it feels like this weeks worth of wrestling shows are gonna have a main mission statement in honoring him big time. I dunno if we'll get full on tribute shows or not yet, but we're sure as hell gonna get some tributes...

If I'm not mistaken, I think that bald spot was actually the result of an in ring injury. I think it was a scar with stitches or something. Anyway, I think it was more prominent in WWE because he wore his hair down while in AEW, it was more slicked back and tied up into a man bun, which I think hid it a lot more. However, I could be wrong here.

You could always (If it unfortunately happened) add anyone missed, and double check with people who have been keeping tabs on passings, maybe the Mod team could help out? I'm all for a Memorium thread because this thread reminded me of how many wrestlers of importance actually passed this year. Aside from Brodie you had the likes of Tracey Smothers, Pat Patterson, and Kamala pass, and then other tragic too soon passings like Hana Kimura, Danny Havoc, and Shad which were just incredibly heartwrenching in their own rights.

This one has really hit me, this is the first time a wrestler I've seen live has passed away. I'm really shocked as he was always entertaining live especially at house shows. 41 is no age to go. Rest In Peace Jon Huber.

Man.... RIP I can't stop but thinking wrestling is cursed. It's not just wrestling, as I said before this is entertainment in general The amount of musicians who were killed or died under the age of 30 just over the last 2-3 years is saddening. Pop Smoke killed at age 20 this year. King Von killed at the age of 26 this year. XXXtencacion killed at 20, two years ago. Juice Wrld died of an overdose age 21 last year. That's not even counting Nipsey Hussle who was 33 when he got killed last year

If they actually pull the trigger and have Hangman join Dark Order, effectively turning them face as they carry on for Brodie and Hangman also full circles his storyline finding a new group of friends who care... I may bawl my eyes out...

Just waking up after a restless sleep and first instinct was get on here and honestly check on everyone posting. It’s fine to hurt, to cry, to mourn. God knows I’m doing that. But... are you all OK? Just asking in general, I just... we’re not alone in pain, we’re all together in it right now. And God willing, Jon will help us laugh it all away someday. He was that guy.

I'm not one that mourns celebrity deaths. The only two I've been legit upset by are Larry Sweeney and Adam Schlesinger. Brodie is definitely number three.
I haven't talked to my brother in months - a shame, as we used to be super close. Seeing the endless tributes to Brodie, who was just a little over a year older than me, triggered something. I found myself writing an email to him. "Let's talk," I said. "Life's too f'ing short to be angry. I can't do it anymore." I hope I hear from him.
