Like others have said, if you want to go that direction, go that direction. Make your whole product that way and not keep it to its own section like what seems to happen now.
And if you do, I also never want to hear the words “lawsuit”, “court order”, “board of directors” or anything relating to contracts ever again.

I'm all for making the show more fantastical. The two most popular eras were full of that, Rock and wrestling had that nonstop, Attitude had Taker and Kane doing their shit. Do it, do larger than life shit, I'll take it over good wrestler vs good wrestler with not much of an angle.

I remember when they had Big Show threatened with arrest for wanting to punch Triple H out, when there'd just been 3 weeks of video evidence of them blackmailing him into assaulting people including an old man.

When me and my friends would mess around wrestling on the trampoline and making up stories, one ended up with me imprisoned and then shot while in jail. Just kind of improvised the whole thing, and when we were done I was like, "well this is all pretty silly and clearly too far."
That being said, as I've said many times, The Fiend and Alexa is my favorite thing and basically the only thing I've been tuning in for for months.

As someone pointed out, even that stuff still involved police getting involved and doing investigations. Kane still had to go to a mental asylum for God sake and it was shown before then, he could summon lightning at will. Why would you be running away from those guys if you could just fry them all? If you’re going to keep doing that stuff, don’t bring it even up. Or even if you do, throw in a line implying Vince paying off Government officials to keep it going or making them act like it isn’t real (in the kayfabe world I mean).

It also largely is about internal consistency.
This is a company that has had not just talents but THE CEO OF THE COMPANY! arrested multiple times on air for far less dubious means but yet the clear cut murderer is walkin around a free man.
There are things we let slide because pro wrestling is just inherently dumb but when you start straight up broadcasting actual murder and just toss it out all willy nilly okay now those holes in your writing now become craters because now you open up a whole can of worms that cannot be closed.

Doesn't really have to be either or Impact has made a living off that. Matt Hardy situation was in his own world into they brought it to his compound and it still maintained its distance. Lashley/Edwards were doing "real wrestling" amongst all the cartoon madness

WWE are so desperate for ratings they're trying the soap opera TUNE IN NEXT WEEK approach to try and get fans interested Problem is, I almost guarantee you RAW opens up completely normal next week and doesn't immediately follow up on this, and even if they do, you know it isn't gonna be interesting. We all know it's opening with Hulk Hogan as the fans tune out on his egotistic racist ass.

WWE’s history of that hasn’t exactly been similar except really rarely. If Impact Wrestling did that 2020 MITB match, it’d honestly have been much better and actually taken advantage of the situation, for example.

Impact doesn't or atleast they try not to play by real world rules...they don't go summoning the police to solve any issues hell Bravo got shot and the only one doing any investigation was friggin Tommy Dreamer. So they atleast try to stick within their own little bubble that has its own presumed logic and rules.

I mean I get it but I just don't see this as the straw that broke the camels back Bray Wyatt/The Fiend has not been played straight since he came back. He's damn near literally in his own universe in everything he does. He wiped John Cena from existence. The only time they came close to playing The Fiend straight is Roman calling him "still a freak in a mask" but other then that as I said they are doing what Impact did with Matt Hardy before they went full crazy

As the other Captain said, like, there has to be some kind of consistency. Impact at least pivoted that way and did that and made stuff post Broken make sense and WWE just never really did that so it’s all jarring. It just never feels like it fits together as well as it does on Impact, just that they’re doing it just to do it.

And while I’m here, WrestleHouse embraced the absurdity of its situation and developed the people involved more than anything WWE has done with its cinematic matches outside of the Firefly Funhouse match.

And while I’m here, WrestleHouse embraced the absurdity of its situation and developed the people involved more than anything WWE has done with its cinematic matches outside of the Firefly Funhouse match. I remember enjoying Money in the Bank but the only things I actually recall about it are Asuka doing the balcony dive and then disappearing from the match until it was time to win, the Bryan / AJ / Vince segment (which could've done a lot more than it did), AJ having PTSD on seeing a Taker poster, Shayna choking out Rey, and Corbin killing people.

Being fair WWE can do some stupid shit with police too. Remember Ronda telekinetically driving a car last year?

WWE writer realizing they technically have to create some kind of resolution when using a cliffhanger
