179. The Human Centipede [first sequence]* *USB drive* I watched this after watching Tosh.0’s recap of it and that made it seem a lot more a comedy movie than it should have been. It was pretty f***ed up and gross, that’s for sure. I watch a lot of gross stuff and this wasn’t anywhere near ASS explicit BUTT the idea was much more so. The girls were f***ing annoying in every sense BUTT the dude playing the surgeon was great. My only problem was I didn’t have subtitles so I think I missed out on the one subplot with whoever those two guys were. I’m ASSuming they were either detectives or investors.

The Outsiders-BBC America-9 outta 10
Haven't seen the original cut of this film in decades. Saw BBC America was airing it so set the DVR. Watched it earlier and was surprised that there wasn't that many breaks for ads. And this was the first time I noticed how bad Diane Lane's acting was in this movie. But still one of my favorite films and I need to track down this cut on DVD or Blu Ray.

The last time I saw it may have even been way back then. It’s crazy how many stars/future stars are in it. Diane Lane wasn’t one I even remembered in it lol. Also, it’s kind of weird BBC America was playing it, right?

123. Jay & Silent Bob Reboot - Watched this on DVD. Okay, I'm just going to say this - I am really, REALLY mixed on this one. Now many of the bits felt cringeworthy in some areas, particularly when talking about forced attempts at humor and rather dated subjects being tackled that no one would care about anymore. However, that isn't to say that this movie didn't have its moments. In fact, as the movie progressed, it got a bit better. I will also note that I didn't go in with the highest of expectations.
Considering out of all the Askewniverse films, this was only one of two that was an actual sequel (the other one being Clerks II). I know where Kevin Smith was going with this being that not only it had been nearly two decades since Strike Back, but also how the internet and movie industry had changed since the turn of the millennium, whether it's talking about the superhero movie craze that went on through the 2010s (Mainly, anyway), or even the trend of reboots (hence the title of this film).
Like Strike Back before it, this movie was one big inside joke. There was a lot of fourth-wall breaking, especially some inside jokes from Harley Quinn Smith (Kevin Smith's daughter), who played a big role in this film. I will admit that I laughed at some bits. I wouldn't go so far as to say that I hated it, but it would be wrong if I said that I loved it. I mean, yes, there were even jokes at the expense of Smith and Jason Mewes being too old to be playing stoners, and there were even some touching moments, as well. So yes, I would say that at best this movie was average at best, or close to it.

When the credits were rolling they shrunk them down so BBC America could advertise that they have reruns of Law&Order. And after the movie was STTNG. I don't think that many UK shows air on BBC America anymore.

It’s just a matter of time until Food Network starts airing hardcore porn.

Hell the one channel I watched the most of Dish,Z Living,we lost over a month ago. But it had a great line up. MST3k every Friday. Danger Man,2 episodes at a time, every night at 3am. Then CWFH Saturdays at 11pm.

#203 - The High NOte

This film follows a lot of the tropes of the genre but it works well because the cast delivers really good performances and there's a few enjoyable songs. [***]

180. Collar* *DVD* This one was both f***ing horrible and strangely intriguing. It really tried hard to be dark and brutal but it crossed the line into ridiculously stupid and a parody of dark and brutal for most of the run. It was like the guy making it watched the other good movies and was like “okay we gotta do that too but we also gotta do this”. But it got so f***ing stupid. Like, wow this is stupid. But maybe it was supposed to be overly stupid. This was the same guy that made Gutterballs and Famine But the main homeless guy was pretty cool. Just as the movie went on it got so much stupider that he got brought down by it. Everyone else was just so bad and everything they did was so stupid. So watch this if you’ve seen every other movie Unearthed Films has put out and feel you need to see every single one now.

124. Black Widow (2021) - Saw this in theaters. I had waited more than a year to see this, along with many others. When comparing this to other Marvel movies, this was darker than some others. Not to the point where it was completely serious as there was some levity, but not as much as other Marvel films before this one. Scarlett Johansson was great as Natasha Romanoff and it's a bummer that this will be the last time we will see her as that character, but as a movie that fills in the gaps, it has an interesting story and also some good action scenes. I know that many MCU films has a lot of suspension of disbelief, and this was no exception.

It's trademark Soderbergh. A good cast, quality performances, a twisty story, and it looks pretty damn good to boot. Plus, you get random, unexpected Matt Damon. [***½]

82. Bruce Almighty (2003) 83. Evan Almighty (2007) 84. Hot Shots! Part Deux (1993)So a couple weeks back the first movie showed up on YouTube as a freebie, and now here's the sequel. Not much different then the first one, rapid-fire hit or miss jokes surrounding an uninteresting love story. The highlight of the first movie was Lloyd Bridges and it just feels like he's taken a step down in this one. The funniest scene was probably Martin Sheen's cameo playing his character from Apocalypse Now.

#205 - Fear Street Part TWo: 1978
*Netflix
At first, I was liking this a lot less than part one. It was slower paced at times and the biggest issue was that these characters were far less likable than those in part one. However, it began connecting to the greater story in interesting ways, the pace picked up, and it became a pretty great slasher flick that was about on par with part one. [***½]

70. Star Wars: Episode IX - The Rise of Skywalker
Finally finished up the final trilogy. It did a good job of tying up all the loose ends. Definitely better than part 8. Mildly annoying that they kept giving the Jedi new powers the further we got in the movies. Now we just have to watch Solo and we will have seen them all.

84. Hot Shots! Part Deux (1993) 85. High Spirits (1988)One more YouTube freebie. I remember my Mother watching this a lot on VHS when I was a kid. She's dead now. I'm not completely convinced those two situations are unrelated. For those that don't remember, Peter O'Toole owns a rundown Irish castle and to try to make some money he and his staff try to fake some hauntings for American tourists in it. This pisses off the real ghosts in the place and hilarity ensues. Peter O'Toole has his moments and the physical comedy for the faked hauntings at the beginning was pretty funny, but over-all this isn't very good. That said, you get to see Jennifer Tilly in her underwear, so who am I to complain?

#206 - Saw VI
*Blu-Ray
An improvement over the previous two installments and going after the health insurance business made me like it just that much more. [**½]
#207 - Black Widow
*Theater
I'm probably gonna rate this higher than most but I loved this movie. The family dynamic hit me emotionally and the action was cool. The stakes didn't feel as high given we know Natasha's fate in Endgame but it all still worked.
Also, Florence Pugh continues to be incredible and Yelena is already one of my favorite MCU characters. [****½]

182. Phenomena *USB drive* I do like this movie for its great atmosphere but it really peaks early for me and never quite gets back there. The first sleepwalking scene is one of the more incredible scenes in any movie. The rest is great but I could just watch and rewind that for an hour. I can tell that it’s not Argentos best work but I enjoy watching it much more than most of the rest. And again it’s because of that one f***ing scene.

71. Solo: A Star Wars Story
It tried really hard to be fun but kept veering off into stupid. Donald Glover was great. Woody Harrelson was great. Alden Ehrenreich was just okay. That navidroid of Lando’s was annoying every second she was on screen. Those dice things have bothered me in every movie they have appeared. No point to them except to promote a knickknack they can sell in the Disney Store.

84. Hot Shots! Part Deux (1993) 85. High Spirits (1988) 86. Black Widow (2021)My first time in an actual movie theater since Christmas 2019. My local theater actually took that time to do some much needed renovations. And about a third of the way through they had to throw a homeless guy out of the theater because he wouldn't stop making noises. But an excellent way to return to the theaters. Great movie and perfect farewell for Scarlett Johansson. I'm only sad they couldn't squeeze Claire Voyant into the narrative.
