So I know not everyone does these, but for those of us who do, what do we have in mind for 2021?
For me, it's set at least $25 in savings each week, which is something I should have done BEFORE turning 30 instead of after, and get my weight down to at least under 200 pounds before my next doctor's appointment since she's kinda been hitting me hard on that.

I've really enjoyed the increased amount of home cooking I've done this year. I've always liked cooking, but in the hustle and bustle of the BeforeTime.... I kinda forgot that it used to be my favorite hobby. I also feel better because I'm eating more quality foods.
I'm making a concentrated effort to keep cooking when/if things normalize.
My second resolution: I sit on a couple different boards/committees. I'm going to do everything in my power to keep these meetings remote forever! The ability to have a real meeting in a real time frame without everybody wasting time driving is invaluable. It's allowed for more frequent, less time consuming and more productive meetings. Instead of quarterly multi-hour slogs of shitty meetings at 8pm, it's monthly 20 minute productive meetings while I'm drinking iced tea in my recliner. Zero reason to return to the money/time hogs of the BeforeTime.

I don't do New Years resolutions. When I want to better myself in some way I start regardless of what time of year it is.
That being said, three things I'm currently working on are my diet (don't really need to lose weight, but need to be healthier and watch my cholesterol and stuff), decreasing my marijuana consumption (I used to literally smoke all day like Snoop Dogg and now I smoke 3 times a day (noon, 6ish, and midnightish), and continuing my workout regimen of 20 chair push ups followed by 45 mins on a treadmill. I admit I haven't kept up well since like the week before Christmas due to various things, but starting Monday my schedule will be more back to normal and I'll resume doing it every day. I've also started working on being more confident talking to the ladies. I was quite the ladies man in my teens and early 20's but then my horrible emotionally abusive wife of over a decade took away my self confidence, but I'm getting it back.

I really need to quit smoking Dude, if nothing else, when I quit smoking I had way more money. And let's be honest, money is f***ing awesome.

I don't really do these since I think they are cliche as all hell.
That said, I'm going to try to keep going with my weight loss (I've dropped all of my quarantine weight plus five pounds since the first week of November) and finally quit smoking for good. I was going to try this year (bad idea) and have succeeded in the past with using a vape to take the edge off. What I've learned in my past attempts which have been successful to different degrees is that I can't kid myself into thinking that I can have a cigarette here and there or only smoke when I'm drinking. It just doesn't work for me. I wish I had a quack doctor that would just put me in a coma for a week or ten days to get over the worst of the cravings.

I've been sitting on a few creative ideas for the past few months and I want to finally write them down properly, if nothing else so I can work out if I think they're any good or not. I'm terrible for having ideas that never come to fruition and it's really beginning to frustrate me.
I'd also quite like to change jobs, but that decision may be taken out of my hands.

1. I need to lose weight desperately. I had a rough end of the year with stomach issues and a trip to the doctor's during that revealed that I'm considered morbidly obese. I have so many aches and pains that I know are due to the extra weight I'm carrying. So I want to get myself down to a healthy weight.
2. I want to put some serious focus on my writing. I love it and I've learned that I'm good at it. I want to evolve past fanfiction and niche stuff and write something I could possibly self-publish.
3. I want to finally get out of my dead-end job that has been responsible for most of the anxiety I carry around with me. I can't deal with being in healthcare any longer, especially since our second wave of Covid is apparently beginning. So I want to get myself into a stable, better paying job that I can actually make a living off of. (if 2 and 3 end up intersecting, even better!)

I've had back issues since I was in my early 20s and in shape, and it hasn't gotten better as I've gotten steadily less in shape the last 13 years. Plus, I've noticed some shortness of breath since my bout with covid in November, so hopefully a good diet will help with that.
