Vettel retires. Max's tyres have gone, he's got no pace as Hamilton gets told to watch the kerbs.

Hamilton wins it in Saudi Arabia, from Verstappen and Bottas, who picks off Ocon at the death.
Verstappen - 369.5 Hamilton - 369.5

Max slows down to give the place back, Lewis runs into him, and Max gets a 5 second penalty for gaining an advantage. He tried to give the place back, penalty is bs. Didnât change the outcome though with Maxâs tires falling off at the end. Still shouldnât have been a time penalty.

I'm predicting one of three things happens next week:
1) Max pulls a Schumi Special and wins the championship on the win advantage. 2) Gasly or Russell get ordered to "accidentally" take a hit out. 3) Masi finally loses it and starts kicking the shit out of Toto and Horner for whining on the radio one too many times.

Iâm gonna go on record that this season may be right up there with 1994 as the most bonkers F1 season in my lifetime, at least through the filter of the actual on-track racing itself. 1994 was built upon tragedy and carnage with the fatal accidents for Senna and Ratzenberger and wave after wave of serious, injury-causing accidents (broken necks, dudes in comas, etc.) caused by the rollback of a whole lot of driver aids that had been introduced over the preceding years (active suspension, traction control, launch control, anti-lock brakes, etc.)⊠But the actual on-track stuff with Schumacher and Hill was not actually as close as it looked (largely because of Benetton bending a few rules along the way). Schumacher probably would have wrapped up the championship earlier had he not been disqualified from two races and banned from another two (Hill won all four of them unopposed), thus not necessitating their own last round craziness in Australia.
2021 meanwhile? Almost all of this between Verstappen and Hamilton has been on the track, multiple head-to-head battles, trading wins, multiple crashes with each other⊠Itâs absolute money. Netflix must be licking their chops at the stuff they can get for Drive To Survive this year.

That was one of the most bizarre races in a while. I think the Mercedesâ and red bull pit walls didnât help, and itâs in situations like today youâd miss Charlie whiting, because Michael masi contributed to the mess by some bizarre radio calls to the teams.

well THAT was ... a race! there's drama and there's drama and then some pity hamilton wasn't behind max at the weighing station at the end, and max backed off it slowly ... i doubt the layout will be left alone either after those first corner shenanegans

3) Masi finally loses it and starts kicking the shit out of Toto and Horner for whining on the radio one too many times. Judging by the way Toto slammed his headphones down in anger yesterday, Masi might not want to get too close! For what itâs worth, I think Max could have moved over more to let Lewis through. I say this as someone who wants Max to win the title, but some of his driving yesterday was a bit questionable. Say what you will about Hamilton, and Iâve said good and bad, but heâs always raced hard but fair.

Obvious example at Silverstone aside, I still remember his absolute tantrum at Abu Dhabi trying to get Vettel to pass Nico.

Those instances are few and far between though, considering the length of his career. Itâll be interesting to see if either resorts to playing dirty; I hope not, as itâs been a remarkable season - one of the best in years.

There's no doubt in my mind that 2021 is going to go down as one of the all time great Formula 1 seasons.
I'm really not sure who I'm routing for, I would love to see Lewis win an 8th Title.
On the other hand I would love to see Max win it.
Both drivers would deserve it.
I just hope we don't get a Senna and Prost at Suzuka where they both go out in the first corner.
Or indeed a Schumacher and Villeneuve scenario where one bashes into the other.
I definitely picked a great Season to start watching regularly again.

So... Only 19 people racing right? Yes. It'd have been too late in the piece for Haas to sub in a driver, I think.

15 minutes til we go racing for the last time this season.
Much easier to work out who is getting the title than usual.
Max Verstappen vs Lewis Hamilton -Equal on points (only the second time it's happened, the first was 1974) -Max would win the title if neither scores points here due to having an extra win. (The FIA/Stewards have made sure of mentioning that they do have the power to dock points.) -Max on pole, starts on soft tyres and Perez is in 4th -Lewis on second, starts on mediums and Bottas is in 6th
Mercedes 587.5 vs 559.5 Red Bull - Constructors title is still up for grabs (not that its getting any attention)
Moving away from the titles, it's the last race for this design of car with significant changes coming for next year, and also the final race for Kimi Raikkonen.
