Well, only thing I’m puzzling after the rewatch is {Spoiler}{Spoiler}{Spoiler}{SPOILER: CLICK TO SHOW}the dates. August 23rd and Agnus calling out June 2nd. June 2nd probably is nothing, just creepy since that’s literally my real birthday. 365 days to pick and they went with that one. August 23rd though has to mean something. Why that day?
Also questioning who is in control again. Why Mrs. Hart kept saying “Stop it.” while Wanda and Viz froze. Wanda had to tell Viz to act before he could. So... again, who’s driving here? . All I got for the moment. {Spoiler}{Spoiler}Actually that August 23rd date had me curious too. The calendar clearly showed that that was a Wednesday, and I looked it up and August 23rd only falls on a Wednesday once in the 1950's, in 1950 itself, and not again until 1961. Most recently it happened in 2017, and won't again until 2023. I have no idea if this is significant in any way, I really doubt it, but I thought it was interesting. Wait, a second... {Spoiler}{SPOILER: CLICK TO SHOW}What year did Endgame happen in again in Marvel time?

I think people are looking way too hard at the commercials for clues as to who’s behind everything. I think it’s simpler than everyone thinks. {Spoiler}The commercials all involve major moments in Wanda’s life. The toaster references the bomb that killed her parents and left her and Piotr buried in rubble...even made by Stark Industries. The Strucker reference...the Hydra leader that gave her powers. All hints that Wanda is behind staying locked in her bubble.
That doesn’t mean there’s no big bad with Big Red gumming things up...

i watched them last night, and after episode 2 i gotta say i'm upset {Spoiler}first, at the start of the episode, Wanda uses her powers to push her and Vision's beds...together. a man and a woman with their beds together! on television!! Lucy and Ricky didn't have their beds together. Fred and Wilma didn't have their beds together. but Wanda and Vision, hey, lets snuggle up close! you all know what that implies when two adults have their beds together. is it any wonder Wanda ends up pregnant at the end of the episode. and children are watching this show!
and then Wanda leaves the house...wearing pants! has she no shame in her appearance?! what kind of an example is she setting! next she'll be wanting to work outside the home and insisting Vision do the dishes. he doesn't eat food, woman! why should he do the dishes?!
but to top it all off, we've got Vision. at a talent show, raising money for children, he's got the nerve to show up completely out of his senses. if a man can't handle his bubblegum like that, he shouldn't be allowed in public! at least we can be thankful it was only Big Red. who knows what he would've looked like hopped up on Double Bubble.
Marvel, have you no decency. you clean up this smut or i may just have to switch over to the DCEU. they'd never have something as lurid as Batman and some strange woman pushing their beds together!

In regards to the date of August 23... {Spoiler}{POTENTIAL SPOILER: CLICK TO SHOW}I read elsewhere that it's a nod to Avenger's issue 238.
In issue 233, Vision is attacked and rendered unconcious by Annihilus. Issue 238 is the first issue where he is again awake, and one of the two other Avengers to appear on the cover is Monica Rambeau, who is also in the show.

I'm impressed with how long they commit to the bit. Like, someone could do a supercut knocking off only about three minutes or so from the first two episodes combined and play them as straight sitcom parodies.
They're being very patient but also establishing this being the accepted reality. Don't know where it's going, I'm glad to say.

I grew up during the heyday of Nick At Nite, so this is right up my alley.

I'm going to be honest, I'm not sure yet if I like it or not. I'm just gonna put all my random thoughts in bullet points:
- I personally don't like pre-80's sitcoms, so the setting doesn't do anything for me as far as giving me warm nostalgia or anything.
- I like the very "Pleasantville" black and white to color transition.
- Elizabeth Olsen is becoming an increasingly better actress with each MCU appearance.
- Elizabeth Olsen is also getting ridiculously sexy as she's getting older.
- I think the pacing is too slow. This thing is 8 episodes. We've seen 2, which means we are a quarter of the way into it, and barely anything has happened. I'm used to MCU stuff (even the tv shows that weren't made by Marvel Studios) having a much quicker pace. Obviously it's okay to try something different, but it isn't connecting with me personally. To me the interesting thing is WHY this is all happening, not the specifics of WHAT is happening on their fake show. I'm sure the events of the sitcom world are in some way a twisted reflection of the reality Wanda is facing, it's just too slow burning for a show with only 8 episodes to me. Each episode of The Mandalorian on Disney+ feels like a short Star Wars film, and I was kinda hoping for that with this.
- I thought the title was stupid from the time they announced it until I actually saw the show. Turns out, it's actually the perfect title. It sounds like it could be an old sitcom, or a modern sci-fi show, and it's both. Also there's the obvious play on words that I thought was lame at first, but works perfectly for the show.
- All in all, I don't think I'll be able to decide if I like it or not until I've seen them all. But I'm a huge MCU fan. The only thing I tapped out on and never watched all the way through was that shitty Inhumans series. I'm along for the ride at least.

What kind of message are they sending children? Next they'll promote interracial or copules of even *gasp* Same sex couples!

As someone who loves both old sitcom tropes & slow developing things are not what they seem stories I absolutely loved it. Olson & Bettany had great cheesy sitcom chemistry. Looking forward to watching this play out.

I want at least a reference to Vision's in-laws and him complaining how nasty they are, especially Wanda's dad (don't think they can mention his name...yet)

Really enjoyed this. The MCU has really needed something that felt fresh and new after Endgame and thisbus very much that.
Super impressed by Olsen and Bettany as well. Love all the Rik Mayall references from Bettany in the second episode.

Paul Bettany and Kathryn Hahn seem to have been waiting to be in a 1950's/60's sitcom their entire career.
