Nice of him to bury the efforts and work of the million other things that happened on the ppv which includes that brutal match that happened just before the “sparklers”. Also are people really pretending that explosion was the intended result? It obviously was a technical error, not a “let’s do a shitty job and be cheap with the explosions” error Seriously? We're defending negative aspects of a PPV on the basis that they "worked hard"? Well, who gives a crap if they worked hard? As consumers we're interested in the final product. I'm sure a lot of the New York Jets worked their asses off this season, that doesn't automatically make it a successful one. And I don't know why we should differentiate between cheapness and a technical error. The Shockmaster was a technical error too, that doesn't excuse it. What I’m saying is the rest of the show is what gave the PPV value. And yes it does matter when people are trolling about something and the bases of it is wrong. Be mad at the pyro guy, not the booking

That's on you for expecting f***ing Cena or Lesnar. No. It really isn't on the fans this time. The company knew what they were doing. They said Hall of Fame material. We got a former multiple-time world champion who is one of the reasons ladder matches even exist in their current form, between the Terri Invitational, multiple TLCs, etc. We got what we were told we'd get.

Note to self; ignore live threads during AEW shows for a while. Some of y’all are a trip 😂 Whatever though. I enjoyed the show. I mentioned earlier I enjoyed the show overall but had such high expectations I left underwhelmed. I think there was a lot of good idea in theory moments with the show and the execution in a lot of moments were just bad. Two things I will give AEW crap for is having Sky win the ladder match and overhyping Christian. And as I mentioned earlier tonight, Christian if healthy is a great signing and he proved in TNA he can carry a brand but that was an overhyped debut. Again not unenjoyable at all. Just think the company will look back and say things didn't go as planned Here's the thing. If I watched that PPV tonight and Christian just showed up, I'd be like "Wow. Christians here!" But after a full week of speculation and hype... Just no. Overall I'd say the women's match, the Cinematic match and the last match (apart from that Laughable ending) were all enjoyable. They hyped up the exploding ring DURING the match too. And also failed to deliver not just in the execution but also the timing. Omega/Mox wrestling in the ring with the explosions going off around them would've been a good image. But they bottled it. And christ, if I'm Eddie I'd just get up and be like "Wow. We got lucky there!"... Him selling it like he just guarded his best friend from a bomb was hilariously embarrassing to watch.

Boy..... a few of you were just waiting for them to botch something huh? I sometimes wonder if Wrestling Fans don't want to enjoy wrestling... they just want to hate it. Legit, some people feel like they wait for something to f*** up because they don't want success, they want it to fail. It's some weird massochistic shit. Have you ever read your posts in the WWE forum?

Its gonna be hard to get people to pay $50 for a ppv again. No it won't, one thing went wrong. It sucks that it did but like the wrestling aspect of the show delivered quite well. They only do four PPV's a year anyway.

No. It really isn't on the fans this time. The company knew what they were doing. Have to disagree. You wanted it to be Cena or Leaner or whoever. Just cause it wasn't who you wanted isn't AEW's fault So the fact that they're hyping up a big signing ALL WEEK only to deliver Christian, a guy who's wrestled one match in about 8 years is completely on the fans for being disappointed? There was a way to go about debuting him. Hyping it up like its gonna shock the industry was not it. Its not 2005 anymore. They failed to deliver.

If the pyro guy can't execute what he needs to execute, then don't promise a big explosion. And I really like Christian, but the best thing I can say about that reveal after the hype that went into it is that at least it wasn't Angle.

Ever since they "partnered" with TNA, they have been turning into TNA. Those explosions were like the electricity cage And let's not forget their last 3 signings are washed up ex WWE guys over 45. I want to support this company. But you don't get everyone's hopes up and deliver f***ing Christian. With all due respect, we were speculating Lesnar, Punk, CENA... Just debut Christian without all this hype and leave it at that. Don't make people think it's gonna be some groundbreaking, industry changing arrival. tht's your fault for speculating Lesnar, Cena and Punk, nobody said iit would be them you hyped that up yourself

More I thought the explosion was the only bad part of the show, the people getting pissed that Christian showed up and "Just signed a contract" literally ignored what was f***ing advertised, Paul said the new talent was going to sign the contract live in the ring... he did that. The decision to hype Christian as a surprise was always a bad decision and here is why. Yes Christian was a great world champ in TNA, and he has always been very good in the ring. But fairly or unfairly he is gonna always be known as Edge's comedic tag partner. Debuting Christian as a surprise? Not a bad idea. Calling him a hall of fame caliber performer (while true) and saying this is a big time get that will help AEW a lot? Not a good decision

I say this as a fan of AEW. This wasn’t it chief.
I’ll go on record and say Darby has lost a lot of what made him special. This whole thing with Sting and Team Taz just hurts Taz and crew. Like, they haven’t looked particularly dominant Dave for one week when they attacked Sting. Sting should’ve lost here, Darby would’ve kept the TNT Title anyways and then you get the drama of “will be make it? How will he react?” But I got some real “old guys coming in and winning” vibes here.
Oh and the sparklers made me laugh hysterically. What an explosive ending.
