Hey, if you don't want Cornette and his stans crapping on your product, then do better. Or at least call an audible and somehow tell Eddie Kingston not to sell that crap like he was dead. Almost no botch or plot hole in wrestling history can fail to be explained away by "mind games," but that doesn't cover for Kingston.

So the fact that they're hyping up a big signing ALL WEEK only to deliver Christian, a guy who's wrestled one match in about 8 years is completely on the fans for being disappointed? There was a way to go about debuting him. Hyping it up like its gonna shock the industry was not it. Its not 2005 anymore. They failed to deliver.
You get that makes it a bigger deal, right, not a lesser one?
There's no way to make a debuting Christian a big deal in 2021.

More I thought the explosion was the only bad part of the show, the people getting pissed that Christian showed up and "Just signed a contract" literally ignored what was f***ing advertised, Paul said the new talent was going to sign the contract live in the ring... he did that. The decision to hype Christian as a surprise was always a bad decision and here is why. Yes Christian was a great world champ in TNA, and he has always been very good in the ring. But fairly or unfairly he is gonna always be known as Edge's comedic tag partner. Debuting Christian as a surprise? Not a bad idea. Calling him a hall of fame caliber performer (while true) and saying this is a big time get that will help AEW a lot? Not a good decision Dude's a multiple time tag champ, IC Champ, he's a former World Champion, he spent several years even in WWE away from Edge This shit is unfair to Christian, full stop. People who have this viewpoint I feel it's their fault, when Christian's proven to be his own man plenty of times.

Wrestletaint.gov is reporting that due to Jacksonville's arcane pyro laws, AEW officials were informed that they could not do large explosions on a Sunday after 11:30PM between the holidays of Valentine's Day and St. Patrick's Day. This explains why they had to settle with sparklers instead of the original plan of napalm. Then why did they not format the damn show then!? Ughhhhh now they really gotta wear this L

Nice of him to bury the efforts and work of the million other things that happened on the ppv which includes that brutal match that happened just before the “sparklers”. Also are people really pretending that explosion was the intended result? It obviously was a technical error, not a “let’s do a shitty job and be cheap with the explosions” error Seriously? We're defending negative aspects of a PPV on the basis that they "worked hard"? Well, who gives a crap if they worked hard? As consumers we're interested in the final product. I'm sure a lot of the New York Jets worked their asses off this season, that doesn't automatically make it a successful one. And I don't know why we should differentiate between cheapness and a technical error. The Shockmaster was a technical error too, that doesn't excuse it. The "end result" was I got to watch multiple 4-star matches and some debuts that made me happy, the @#$% are we all on about, here? Yeah, it was a botch, and that sucked because Kingston and Mox deserved a ton better than that for such an emotional spot. Ok, life moves on, the rest of the show was pretty great.

Strange how this person who's only begun posting tonight in this thread right now after the show knows exactly how cj posts in WWE section. Yeah I noticed that too. Probably just a coincidence though 🙄

I say this as a fan of AEW. This wasn’t it chief. I’ll go on record and say Darby has lost a lot of what made him special. This whole thing with Sting and Team Taz just hurts Taz and crew. Like, they haven’t looked particularly dominant Dave for one week when they attacked Sting. Sting should’ve lost here, Darby would’ve kept the TNT Title anyways and then you get the drama of “will be make it? How will he react?” But I got some real “old guys coming in and winning” vibes here. Oh and the sparklers made me laugh hysterically. What an explosive ending. I mean how do you not have Sting win his first match on his return? That makes even less sense to me. Dude's not gonna always win but it's also Sting and Team Taz had beaten them down quite a bit, they needed to end the feud, not extend it.

Have to disagree. You wanted it to be Cena or Leaner or whoever. Just cause it wasn't who you wanted isn't AEW's fault So the fact that they're hyping up a big signing ALL WEEK only to deliver Christian, a guy who's wrestled one match in about 8 years is completely on the fans for being disappointed?
There was a way to go about debuting him. Hyping it up like its gonna shock the industry was not it. Its not 2005 anymore. They failed to deliver. You get that makes it a bigger deal, right, and not lesser? That he hasn't competed regularly?

I think the moment should obviously be laughed,it is gonna be a shockmaster moment of sorts and there is fair critiscism within it. But man you can totally tell when the peopl are just WAITING to jump into an AEW mistake and blow it out of proportion

It's also worth remember Sammy Guevara and Matt Hardy's feud. People got upset, doom was foretold, and then life moved on.
