Wrestling Observer Radio says that one other name is being discussed to join in the door-kicking fun (spoiler tagging the link as to not ruin the name): {Spoiler}https://411mania.com/wrestling/former-iwgp-heavyweight-champion-okada-set-aew-impact-njpw/

Posted elsewhere but it's the best choice. Hes not had much to do for a year and hes instantly recognisable to aews core audience. Hell yes

Only thing I’ll say: don’t immediately throw him into a feud with Kenny.
There are other matches you can do.

I hate, hate, hate when wrestlers, rappers, and fans use the term .. {Spoiler}”GOD”; But it is absolutely how AEW should (and how I’m pretty certain they would) portray him. I’m talking Kenny. Mox. Jericho. Cody. Archer. Alll of AEW’s heavy hitters just absolutely falling at his feet.
Which is perfect timing seeing as he’s taken somewhat of a backseat in NJPW since losing to Naito. Perfect way to bump him up to the echelon he was considered (and let’s be honest, is) to be.
Only exceptions I could see would be another NJPW talent coming in to defeat him on AEW territory OR a younger, promising AEW talent way, way down the line.
I know I’m jumping the gun but f*** if this isn’t exciting!

I get that sentiment and it's fair. Honestly full on invasions to me don't sound all that great. Now are there things I want to see like Tanahashi and Suzuki get proper runs in North America to end their careers? Yes absolutely. But to me the big benefit is more for guys on the undercard. Are top AEW and top New Japan guys gonna face each other? Of course. But this also opens the door for guys like in AEW to do tours of Japan, likely allows the Dark/Nightmare Factory guys to get some experience with New Japan Strong. Then Impact also benefits from getting guys to develop from both companies. To me that is the big benefit. I think this is where we end up going rather than any full on invasion angles. Like, yeah, we're going to get the Bullet Club vs. Bullet Club match but that'll probably headline a PPV with an undercard of other stuff going on and, say, Okada having a match on another or something along those lines. I don't get the sense (yet) that this is going to be like the dozens of Invasion angles before but more something to splinter off onto other things or be one offs or something like that and honestly, there's no harm in doing that. Also, yeah, getting people like Top Flight in Japan or even just people from the dojos on exgursions would only benefit those involved. Yeah that's what I mean. You have both the Tag Grand Prix? Butcher and Blade aren't doing anything them go for the tour. Need junior tag teams? Here's Top Flight. You want 6 men teams for the Never Division? Heres Jurassic Express. Or hell you can use tournaments like the New Japan Cup or best of Super Juniors for guys like Jungle Boy and Hobbs. Same for AEW. The top guys for New Japan aren't doing much now? Give them some fresh mash ups and let the US audience get to celebrate these talents

Give them some fresh mash ups and let the US audience get to celebrate these talents Exactly, like the way I picture some of it is like how OTT in Ireland announces big imports coming in. They announce they're on the show to get the more "casual" Irish wrestling fan in but build the card around the talents that are there to showcase them, help them to get more over and keep them watching until the bigger names get in. Like, they brought in Naito, BUSHI and EVIL in to face Shane Strickland, Bandido and Flamita (which was about as insane as it reads) but had the Kings of the North defend the tag titles against More Than Hype, two local talents who are there the rest of the time. So, say, book something like Hobbs/Ishii (I know, bit of a ways off but go with me here) and then have the rest of the card have people like Page, Allin, Rosa, Jungle Boy, The Dark Order who you can show to fans who might not have watched AEW before.

Holy shit!
If KENTA was the forbidden door opening, this news, if true, is the door being thrown in a wood chipper. Wow!

He's already beaten Kenny, Cody, Jericho, Archer and Page before. He's on a whole another tier.

Not only would this be huge for AEW, but it'd be huge for wrestling in general
I don't think we'd see a bigger Japan Name in the states since Nakamura debuted in NXT. This is a huge deal, and as others have said perfect timing, he needs a break from New Japan.
