As entertaining the Rumble is, there are moments in it that are outdated, the overdone, and most of the time, make no sense. On this eve of the Rumble, I want to ask what are some moments that need to be minimized or be full on stop:
Mine: First, let’s stop the whole “I’m not in the Rumble but will attack an entrant just to take his or her spot”. The high point of this was in 2004 when Mick Foley attacked Test and took his spot. Then over the years, it went from exciting when faces did it and aggravating when heels did it to just annoying when anyone does it. Not only it is over done, but also nonsense. In what scenario, sports or real life, where if you take someone out do you take their spot without consequences? The Rumble is pretty strict on eliminations but not on entrants? So what’s the point of qualifying matches, or going out on cue?
Second, the whole “You’re eliminating someone? I don’t think so!” Superstars attacking someone when they trying to eliminate someone is ridiculous. It’s an every man for himself scenario. Doesn’t one less person help your chances of winning?

This isn't so much in Rumbles as it is in battle royals but the whole "He/she wasn't thrown over the top rope, therefore he/she wasn't eliminated".

They honestly need to add a 10-Count to leaving the ring. The "I'll dick around outside the ring then sneak back in 10 minutes later" is more stale than Cena vs Orton. If your ass gets so destroyed that you lay on the ground and can't make it back in a 10-Count, TKO right then and there. Just like every other god damned match.
They also need to bring back the old rule of "you must enter the ring before the next entrant".
Basically what I'm saying is 87% of the outside the ring stuff during the Rumble match is total bullshit and has long since stopped being entertaining. It shoots gaping holes into the logic of the entire match.

Not the Rumble itself, but the "what if this happens on Sunday?!" shit the week before needs to be mentioned because it is the worst.

Went through the ropes, not over the top rope and then they lay outside for 20 minutes before surprising everybody that they're still in it. Worked for Santino and they didn't even let him win. Past that it's just been an annoying spot.

This seriously needs to stop in Rumble and Battle Royales as a whole. the I didn't actually go over the top rope but I'm gonna hang around outside the ring for the entire thing is tedious as hell... They do it... EVERY time. People rolling to the outside that aren't eliminated in general is annoying... I remember the first women's royal rumble was super guilty of it and there were large portions of time where the ring was just empty...

Past that it's just been an annoying spot. It's also happened enough where fans remember they're out there so the spot loses all its value.

Going by how Nia Jax and Becky Lynch got into the Men's and Women's Rumbles in 2019, yes. Mine is revealing who 1 and 2 are beforehand. 30 I'm OK with, especially if it's earned in a match, but it takes part of the fun away when we know who starts.

Hasn't happened this year thankfully but I hate it when they give away the Number 1 entry before the Rumble.
One of the best bits is wondering which 2 guys are going to start the match..Takes away the fun and mystery when you give it away beforehand.

Yeah, topping Kacy's save is gonna be almost impossible, time to put them on the shelf for a couple of years.

When a spot requires the ring to be cleared and suddenly guys are eliminated by being effortlessly tossed towards the ropes and going flying. Likewise when someone hits the ring and is booked to eliminate a lot of people in short order and employs this approach. It just looks so fake.

If someone can't do the full run you want them to for an early number, it's better to just give them a late number than to have them get taken out and dragged backstage for a 40 minute nap
