It took four toss outs of Styles before someone had the brains to get him out on the side he could not be saved. New Rumble pet peeve for me.

It took four toss outs of Styles before someone had the brains to get him out on the side he could not be saved. New Rumble pet peeve for me. I thought it worked as "people are on autopilot and not thinking how AJ will be saved", leading to Braun getting over for being the one who realizes what he needs to do and makes the adjustment...but again, it's a spot that they really, really should not repeat. Make a point next year of saying "the rules now say shit like this won't fly", so that if it does happen again a heel needs to be legitimately sneaky to make it work. |

The "numbers" and highlights videos, such as is currently happening in the kick off show needs to go away. We don't need to be reminded of this stuff every year. It kinda takes away from the match that's about to happen in my opinion. I have to say, I see this complaint a lot, and I feel the exact opposite way. I love watching that f***ing thing incrementally change each year. It's part of the fun for me. |

Honestly, what drives me nuts isn't these spots, it's that people HAVEN'T FIGURED OUT THIS IS HOW THE RUMBLE WORKS.
Styles doesn't look brilliant for having a huge bodyguard save him and eliminate his opponents; everyone else just looks stupid for NOT having a bodyguard like that, seeing as how it's entirely legal. Orton doesn't look brilliant for faking a knee injury and spending the whole match in the back. He looks stupid for feeling like he had to take the hits to the knee in the first place. He should have just left, because there's no rule against it.
(But props to them for all but holding up a neon sign saying ORTON WILL RETURN WHEN EDGE IS THE ONLY PERSON LEFT AND ATTACK HIM... and then Edge just doesn't sell it and eliminates him immediately. You wrecked any tension that anyone but Edge would be left at the end, but damn if that didn't get a laugh out of me.)
