hell I said this last week but AEW has been very face heavy since it's inception, it's about time things have turned Okay. That right there is the kind of fan I despise. When I want to watch a show I want to leave it feeling better than I did before I tuned in. I like to see shows end on a positive note. It is not fun for me to be angry, or depressed at the end of a show. I’m not saying faces can’t win but when they win 90% of the time then what exactly is the point. it’s the same thing as a movie or tv show it’s not a bad thing to have the bad guys win, imagine if the empire strikes back ends all happy? are you really that excited to watch the next movie?

I don't like it when I get angry or upset watching wrestling. This is exactly the kind of ending that triggers that kind of response from me. I don't like that I'm that way. But other than just not watching. That is how I am. Ahhh, well certainly man. That's tough. Personally, I'm a fan of villains, and think like Darkseid beating Superman or Orion for a bit is a good thing, because eventually Superman or Orion wins. Orion is meant to win. Eventually someone will make the Bullet Club pay for their heeling. AEW sort of calls back that classic concept, but it's long term booking.

The difference is in those situations I have to wait 30 minutes to a week for a payoff most of the time. Wrestling forces me to wait weeks. Sometimes months for a true good guy victory.

The good thing about that is that there's a ton of wrestling on Youtube. I spent the summer watching 1985 TBS NWA shows, and watched entire month long feuds with a payoff in a couple of days.

Ironically, that could be the vaguely evil, but kinda good guy stable named “Dark Order” who could fill that role. Maybe when a certain cowboy realizes his place is with them.

That's just how wrestling is man, it's a story, like a TV Series, the bad guy losing immediately unless it's a serialized program like a Law and Order within the hour, isn't how it's gonna go most of the time There are big shows and PPVs set for these types of moments with things sprinkled in like Jungle Boy beating Dax clean for example, Orange getting one over on Miro and ruining Kip and Penelope's wedding, etc. It needs to feel like a legitimate journey and payoff, ebbs and flows... or there wouldn't be a compelling story imo.

Faces can’t win all the time otherwise you end up neutering the efficacy of the heels. Yeah, one of the most persistent criticisms of Dusty's booking wasn't the false finishes or repetition, it was the Horsemen becoming ineffectual. 4 dudes beat 2. If anyone thought KENTA was going to job in establishing a relationship, while teaming with the world champion, I don't know why you'd think it. Even if this is unsanctioned and does nothing for either side's win/loss, the winner was inevitable. Archer and Moxley still come out of this looking stronger than when they went in. I honestly thought a double cross by KENTA on Omega was the way they'd go. Shows Kenta just wants Mox, Mox establishes hes coming for Omegas ass when hes , and Archer still gets a win to get put into the title hunt. But this worked too.

Of course, the beauty of wrestling is that everyone has been left looking at the lights at least once, so looking up videos of a heel I particularly hate getting their asses kicked always cheers me up.

I mean, Mox only has one pin fall loss to his name. It took 4 dudes to take Archer out. Sure, the heels won this battle, but the war is hardly over. This'll just piss the two of them off and maybe even force them to ally themselves to one another, which is a scary scary thought.

I will say, this talk about how AEW books endings in regards to balancing out heel vs. face wins is rather interesting. Might be interesting enough to sustain its own thread, IMO.

I had to laugh when Jim Ross said that Arn Anderson's son's face looked "like it belonged on a can of beef stew." It was just so random.

Ok.... now that I’ve seen Arn’s son...... the long game has to be Arn turning on Cody to “coach up” Brock right? I mean, an Anderson turning on a Rhodes is good business.

I quite enjoyed this week. Not really into Darby or Janella so was eh to start with
Lee Johnston won his first match?! Oh if only I cared about him or any of the nightmare family. Well apart from Cody, but he needs to cut the nightmare family lose as they are dead weight
PAC vs Nemeth was a good squash match though
I loved OC & Chucks bit...Like what did you expect
Why was Sammy so concerned about MJF recording since he had specifically asked the camera man to stay?
Hangman & Hardy was good. Interested where it’s going to go
Sting in “hot pursuit”. Looked more like a dad walk to me ha
That’s two weeks in a row that they’ve had a really good woman’s match. I’m sure it’s coincidental that Thunder Rosa was in both (Plus they both had a story......one was just a tournament but still!)
I was really tired so started to crash hard during the main event but it wasnt a reflection on the match which I really enjoyed. I love controlled chaos which is what this was

Hour and a bit in here in the UK tonight and find it isnt holding my attention like usual.
Dont think is a comment on the show as much as my attention span this evening, but still, not digging the show so far - aside from Sammy turning. Sammy is money. Push Sammy to the Moon (maybe not to the moon, he might bump in to Cameron Grimes)
