Pardon me being late in the discussion about this week's episode, but here it goes. {Spoiler}{SPOILER: CLICK TO SHOW}I knew Tess's fate was going to happen sooner or later, but I didn't think it was going to happen this soon. With this season being nine episodes, I could understand.
With that being said, I accept the change from the game in that she was swarmed by the infected rather than gunned down by FEDRA agents. That one scene with the cordyceps going into her mouth was unsettling.
Also, I feel that Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey are doing a good job in rebuilding the dynamic that Troy Baker and Ashley Johnson did for their respective characters in the game.
I wasn't scared by the clicker scene like some others here were, but I did feel the suspense and in a non-video game format, that's how I would suspect some scenes dealing with those creatures would go down. Now I'm wondering how any scene with the bloaters will go down, or the runners.

{Spoiler}{SPOILER: CLICK TO SHOW} It was really beautiful the way they switched up Bill story and this basically had nothing to do with the game
I would had loved to see conspiracy theory crazy ass Bill but this was an emotional episode

Yeah wow that had me bawling. {Spoiler}{SPOILER: CLICK TO SHOW}I missed having the Bill and Ellie banter but. yeah wow.
I know they said in the making of that was the biggest departure but I'm wondering if there was an unspoken "biggest departure *so far*" there

Murray Bartlett is 3 for 3 in giving me roles that I can't stop thinking about for long after. Dammit, man, this epi got me big time.

That episode, man: {Spoiler}{SPOILER: CLICK TO SHOW}Frank didn't kill himself because he was infected in this version, and he didn't die while having disdain for Bill. He was sick and he wanted to die in his bed with Bill comforting him. And Bill couldn't live without him, they died together. Man, I was not ready for that. That whole scene made me cry and I don't care who knows it. Also, the fact that Bill was able to die with his partner while Joel was essentially robbed of that opportunity.

I kept waiting for something to happen where either Frank dies or leaves which causes Bill to be his usual paranoid asshole self
Since Bill has never come back even in the TLOU2 (tho they alluded to him) I am fine with him dying here and what that means to Joel still not confronting Tess death

Very good episode, best of the show so far, and I'm 100% down for these kinds of changes to fill in or flesh out content from the game.

I was not ready this episode holy hell this episode! That was some damn fine television it left me with such a good bittersweet taste in my mouth. You know how people discuss wanting to be able to experience something again like it was the first time, well I want that with this episode. I'd love to be able to wipe my memory and sit down and rewatch this over and over and just let its beauty and its emotions wash over me

This, without hyperbole, is probably my favorite individual story told in The Last of Us franchise. Phenomenal. {Spoiler}{Spoiler}Incredible way to spin something only gleamed from context clues and wink wink nudge nudge stuff into a full blown story while also correcting one of the missteps in the game. It wasn’t malicious but the jabs the first game made at Bill’s sexuality honestly really wasn’t needed. The choice to make Frank still love Bill to the end here and make the “I hate you” note be from Bill to Joel and in a joking way were great changes too.

I'm not much for rewatching stuff, especially right away, but I'm probably going to scratch out some time to rewatch this one tomorrow. Especially since I got interrupted right at the hour mark by family stuff.
