Did they even mention his WCW run? I was watching it at my parents and I dont they even mention it. No, sadly they don't discuss Warrior going bananas in WCW. Which deserves a documentary in and of itself.

I thought it and the Davey Boy trap door incident were both going to be brought up too. Did they mention Renegade being a blatant ripoff that he tried to stop? They didn't mention Renegade, either.

Honestly...pretty good.
I think one can disagree or agree with the narrative they put on it but as a whole I think it was a significantly well done bio.
Way better than Macho’s in comparison.

I'm honestly surprised they went there, so to speak, and brought up U-Dubs' extreme post-wrestling rants when I thought they'd just ignore that part of his life.

Different director, this one showed you Warriors faults but wanted you to know that he found peace at the end and make it seem uplifting. The Macho director wanted you to think Randy was a shithead and that's that.

The point is she's claiming in the documentary that Warrior fell under the spell of mid-aughts talk radio. Warrior's words state that she's the reason he embraced the far-right ideology. It's a direct contradiction to what she's saying about his career veering into punditry.

For those who didn't watch, they didn't mention:
- the Randy Savage retirement match - the Make-A-Wish kid story (the video apology from the airport was a different kid) - the additional comics following his 1996 departure - the WCW run - the Orlando Jordan match - the public 2012 friendship with CM Punk - him selling counterfeit replica belts to collectors in the 2010s claiming they were ring-used
But pretty much everything else was covered, including excerpt texts from his blog that Dana had removed from Wayback Machine.

I don't think she wants to acknowledge that she's a racist homophobe. If the Savage director had this one they'd have ended it with Warrior is a shithead and so is his wife...but this guy chose to tell a nicer story, Savage got the hit piece.

I'm surprised that next week we're getting a WWE Treasures ep with Jake Roberts. These specials have been filmed relatively recently (In the Slaughter one, AJ was wearing the "My Name is Sami Zayn" shirt which came out late last year IIRC), so he was likely signed to AEW when he shot this special.

watching the warrior one, the timeline is all over the place. they went from warrior/rude summer 90 to warrior/undertaker from mid 91 and jake/warrior after that leading up to summerslam in pre-royal rumble jan 91 during his title reign, and then showed him losing the title at rumble.
The other thing I don't like is using in character stuff from the television show 30 years ago, to use to explain "real life" stuff out of character that the narrators are telling.

I think she’s saying that he got too conservative because he started listening to too much talk radio

Far be it from me to believe documentaries made with a lot of involvements with WWE (or many companies for that matter) but I think we're taking the wrong approach to the audience of said things.
Documentaries aren't really made with the target audience in mind as much as expanding the reach that the subject matter is about. Like, The Last Dance was for basketball fans, sure, but it was also weaving a story of the team itself and the people itself which appealed much more than just a straight laced "Man, how good were the Chicago Bulls?!" documentary would have been.
It's sort of a big reason why the A&E deal was made in the first place, to expand the reach of WWE as a brand to places it wouldn't have been able to 5 years ago never mind a decade and thus far, regardless of the accuracy of said things, it's done big numbers for A&E, the most in the channel's history, which will likely do more for WWE's broader appeal and ability to make other deals.
So I get what people are saying but we're sort of seeing individual trees rather than the forest as a whole.

It's weird last week they showed the Jake Roberts most wanted thing saying it would be this week... instead we got the Taker and Kane one again... with "bonus footage" what was said bonus footage by the way... I didn't feel like rewatching it.

UW getting pissed, in his apology video, didn't need to be unintentionally funny. Especially when it was like "Warrior Apology- Take 4".
