There seems to be, like, 80,000 reasons sources are claiming for this and it’s kind of wild.
The wildest being that they’re temporarily down because of a licensing agreement has expired. Like…with yourselves? How does that work?

Despite being owned by the same corporation, WB and HBO Max are considered separate entities. HBO Max has to license the WB content it carries for a price, no different than Netflix or any other streamer. Two and a Half Men is on Peacock in the U.S. because Peacock offered WB more money than HBO Max did.

Oh, I get it completely from how these things work but I don’t get it get it from a common sense logic perspective. If that makes sense. Like, it’s why there was so much controversy about Black Adam because yes, HBO Max paid to have it on the service but, like…it’s WBD paying WBD. Of course people are going to side eye the f*** out of that.

Like, I remember it being an issue with anime between Japanese companies with their American subsidiaries having to bid for anime, as if Sunrise or whoever was going to let an obstinately competing company distribute their shows. I guess in this case, though, WBD in fact will do that.

Of course people are going to side eye the f*** out of that. And that wasn't even the shady part of those figures. I'm pretty sure they emphasised the part where WBD was paying itself to distract from the fact that they included projected revenue as existing profit.

Couldnt they at least renew 51-64? I think we can all live without Daffy vs Speedy, Cool Cat, Merlin, and Bunny and Claude.

Even though it is a Sony property, mostly, they eventually had to lease Sony library shows.

Now word's going around they're considering selling their music library, which would probably profoundly bite them on the ass in the future if they were do to that. Imagine if they redubbed all the music in the 89 Batman or something.

Apparently, they will only sell under the condition that the new owner allows them to continue releasing past projects with the music intact.

Selling your music library, when the bulk of it is soundtracks to movies you still own distribution rights to, sounds incredibly shortsighted to say the least.

Has any part of this whole merger been anything but stupid and shortsighted?
Forget owning the IWA-MS pizza oven, FAN might be able to buy the entire Loony Tunes library for 175$ and half a ham sandwich at the rate Discovery is f***ing this up.

Eww, I call dibs on all Merlin the Magic Mouse cartoons! Okay, but that means all rights to the Charlie Dog shorts are under my ClashItUp Company.

WBD announced they'll be revealing their fourth-quarter and full year results after the markets closed on the 22nd of February with a conference call soon after.
Basically, we're going to find out if the purging of content since the end of the merger actually did anything.
