... where he talks and doesn't wear his mask.
Yet again, a big franchise is with millions of fans that "get it" and they pick someone who doesn't to make the film. Apparently they learned nothing from the last two G.I. Joe movie attempts.

I was thinking of the Nicolas Cage movie then. Good film.

Retaliation was fun. I honestly don't really have much in the way of issues with that one.
Here, yeah, it's ridiculous, but when you make Snake Eyes the main character, what could people reasonably expect? He's probably going to get left mute by the end of the movie and put the mask on, anyway.

I'd rather see a origins story for the members of Cobra, what happened in the lives of Zartan, Storm Shadow, Firefly (and those are just the ones who were in the live action films) that led them to joining?

I want a Snake Eyes movie where Snake Eyes and his army of ninjas (including Storm Shadow and Scarlett) show up at Cobra headquarters all decked out in their ninja gear and brandishing their swords and they all get immediately mowed down by machine gun fire from faceless Cobra goons who say "well you shouldn't have brought a sword to a gun fight" because I'm sick of GI Joe properties featuring Asian mysticism and a pointless sword fight. The rest of the movie is Jinx, the only survivor of the ninja massacre, teaming up with Shipwreck and Robo-JOE to stop Cobra's Weather Dominator Device. Jinx has many bikini scenes in this movie.

And at the end, all the Joe pets (Order, Junkyard, Polly, Sandstorm) end up saving the day.

Yeah, and in the comics they still told that story without Snake Eyes talking. And the entire point is why make that movie?

The ninjas and ancient mysticism has been part of G.I. Joe from the start. Not having it would be weird, and it's one of the main reasons of its popularity back in the day.

Pretty sure he's also blonde and caucasian as well. Yeah, but I didn't even bother going there. There are still people that argue that Iron Fist should have been turned Asian for the show even though him being white is part of the story. It's the same with Snake Eyes, but I figured even going there would turn this into a race thing when the movie would look like shit even he was a blonde white dude.

I remember many things about GI Joe from the 80's. Weather Dominators, clones, The Viper, Cold Slither, a MacGuffin device actually called A MacGuffin Device, time-traveling aliens and Sgt. Slaughter battling Doctor Mindbender at a sci-fi convention. All typical GI Joe stuff. Ninja's not so much.

Joe cartoons in the 80s (to the point where instead of Snake Eyes, Storm Shadow spent most of his screentime fighting Spirit, the G.I. Joes' native American operative). They had more of a spotlight in the comics and ultimately in the toys by the 1990s. At that point, they even literally had an entire subset of figures called Ninja Force (pretty much to compete with the Ninja Turtles and Power Rangers, whose toys were killing Joe in the toy aisles).

If it ends with a half-hour fight scene where he is masked and doesn't (or can't) talk, it'd be worth it.

Yes, and Ninja Force was the thing that kept me and my childhood best friend into G.I. Joe. At that point the cartoon was off the air, and the most popular characters in the comics had always been the ninjas. So logically they built the line around them for a bit to keep up with competitors.

The cartoon is remembered fondly, but the Joe comics (which heavily featured ninjas starting with issue 21) are what most Joe fans consider the "real" continuity.
