So why exactly did they call up Hit Row again? So they could get them to sign new contracts with longer non-compete clauses before they cut them.

Apparently Meltzer said Gargano's contract expires on December 3 and WWE's pushing hard for him to sign a new contract so, yeah. He's in limbo right now.

I think that's because he has a spot in AEW and he's basically a fit to be a guy to teach the greenhorns. This mainly comes down to what Johnny wants, to basically be an on tv trainer or to get a run on the big show. Also the idea of Gargano and O'Reilly showing up basically at the same time probably doesn't amuse the WWE.

Pretty much and the WWE loves being the one that chose to release a talent, they don't like being turned down it infuriates Vince.

If they want to they are still going to work for another wrestling company eventually either way. What does it matter if they show up in AEW in February as apposed to December? There's still going to be buzz around them either way. It's not like they were involved in some big angle or anything at the time of their firing. Unless Vince just personally didn't like them for some reason and did it to be a dick.

It's why the got worried about it happening with Malakai Black.

Pretty much, to them it’s an “out of sight, out of mind” thing. The reaction is much smaller if they debuted after 3 months than 1 month.

At least with Gargano it does seem like they are at least attempting to try to sway into staying as they have him in the main event scene at the moment. O'Reilly on the other it seems like they are trying to scare away. Making someone the lesser half in a tag team with Von Wagner doesn't seem like a good tactic to try to get someone to resign.

They have to earmark a couple of ring talented vets to work the greenhorns. Garganos apparently 1, Ciampa and Roddy seem on that list too. The question is if they actually want those roles.

He sees all these people as disposable. Wyatt of all people he let go so he ain't gonna be mad at Gargano. I think Bryan was the only one he might have been upset about leaving. All these others he doesn't care about. You gotta be a huge name for Vince to truly care. Reigns, Becky, Seth, Charlotte, New Day maybe, those are the ones I feel he'd really be like "alright what'd going on here" if they went to AEW.

The botch of the Retribution gimmick (not his fault IMO), not hiding his distaste of the Saudi deal and having a gimmick idea shot down. If I'm Ali I don't empty the savings account to buy a sports car anytime soon. I'd also ask Danielson (who is said to be a big fan) to put in a good word.

That definitely seems like their plan. All of those guys it seems have been assigned green horns they have high hopes for either as rivals or tag partners to help them along, Von with Kyle, Carmello with Gargano, Bron Breakker with Ciampa, and the Creed Brothers with Strong. Difference is unlike the rest Kyle is presented as the lesser star to his rookie. Ciampa is still the NXT Champion, Strong is Cruiserweight Champion and the centerpiece of Diamond Mine, and Gargano has been protected in his feud with Carmello and Trick as they've gotten all their heat on Dexter instead so far.

Gargano hasn't got a chance in hell of succeeding on the main roster, he will be chasing the 24/7 title if he re-signs & then will likely be released next year.

I don't think I realized how genuinely pathetic and stretched thin Raw's roster is at this point. Assuming SmackDown Hotel has it right it's...
Men (32) AJ Styles Akira Tozawa Angelo Dawkins Apollo Crews Austin Theory Big E Bobby Lashley Cedric Alexander Chad Gable Commander Azeez Damian Priest Dolph Ziggler Dominik Mysterio Edge Finn Balor Gable Steveson Kevin Owens MVP Montez Ford Omos Otis R-Truth Randy Orton Reggie Rey Mysterio Riddle Robert Roode Seth Rollins Shelton Benjamin T-Bar The Miz Veer Mahaan
Women (11): Alexa Bliss Becky Lynch Bianca Belair Carmella Dana Brooke Doudrop Liv Morgan Nikki ASH Rhea Ripley Tamina Zelina Vega
And quite a few of those are injured or otherwise missing. How do you build up someone as a big deal or keep two top stars a part when the landscape is that barren?

I desperately want Ali to get the hell out of WWE the first chance he gets. I don't know that I've ever wanted to see someone succeed somewhere else as much as I do him.
