Update on Gargano from fightful. The fact he signed a short extension and not a new deal is pretty telling about him being out the door. it is 5 days before AEW's winter is coming also. At this point it's gonna be way more surprising to see talents re-up on a deal than not I feel like. The upcoming expiring deals (Owens/Zayn/Reily) are really gonna be interesting... let alone just waiting for another roster cut bomb at this rate. This is another thing that strikes me about how dumb what WWE is doing here is. They're cutting a ton of people that want to be there, so now talent they actually want to keep is going to want to leave because of the lack of trust they have in their deals now. They're not going to have enough wrestlers to run a single show at this rate, let alone three brands. |

I'd understand if Gargano stayed as he has a kid coming, his wife is there for a while yet, and if he can squeeze a big contract out of the WWE, even if they sack both of them in 6 weeks that's still 6 weeks extra dosh when needed. And AEW would blatantly snap up both Gargano and Candice faster than you can say "on the market".

I dunno about Gargano but I know Ciampa has said he is content being in NXT and a trainer while occasionally doing stuff on main roster in short bits if needed but he would ask for his release if he had to be on the road 200 days a year. Yesterday SRS seemed to indicate that Gargano was most likely to take a break but with the kid on the way and having the family doing something similar may be more appealing to him. Also said that Gargano is pretty beat up. |

(I hope you’re right! I hope it’s even longer than that!) I'd rather say we won't get more until March as per "financial tradition" but who even knows anymore? |

I wouldn't be terribly shocked if they do a post-Christmas, pre-New Year's firing spree honestly.
If not that would imagine there'll be one right at the start of the year to help puff up how Nick Khan is apparently super intent on Day 1 being a huge success when thus far its ticket sales... aren't that.

I would think they would wait until after Rumble and Mania to do more releases since they book a lot of talent for those shows however with how rapidly they are doing cuts these days I think there's at least going to be one more before Mania. Probably in early February. Not a big one like the last one but maybe a smaller with like a half dozen talent like the Braun/Ruby one last summer.

I'm not going to wish being released on him because maybe he's perfectly happy where he is, but I do certainly agree they don't use him to his best.
