At this point, we probably shouldn't be surprised if anyone gets released outside of the current four world champions. They've released great indie workers and they've released Braun Strowman and everyone in-between. No one is safe no matter what they offer. At this point, I’d only be shocked by Lesnar, Roman, Rollins and Becky being cut. Surprised by Bayley and New Day. I could also genuinely see Triple H and Stephanie leaving the company in the next couple years. Not to go to AEW or anything, just cashing out and retiring. I see Triple H leaving in a "f*** the business, look what it's done for me" kind of way like so many jaded old timers, but Stephanie is going down with this boat.

It really feels like after a year of fans being like “lol NXT loses in the ratings again” “NXT isn’t good anymore” WWE just shrugged and said “guess you’re right. Jettison it” I mean WWE could have also just let it f***ing go to FS1 like was originally planned and in place, but no... had to try and GO TO WAR, and it only cost you your third brand as you knew it and FOX getting pissed at you for the last second pivot... good business.

Trip's loss of power is sad and sad in a weird way if you ask me. Sad from a "you saw a guy grind hard to make something and it was cut down by his ruthless father-in-law" type of sad. Like, he was fighting his dad for his love of wrestling.
He was given a brand and he and his people turned it into the hottest thing in wrestling. All while the main roster was failing. He was so dope that he sent some of his best dudes to the main roster and today those dudes rule it. It was a way of showing his father-in-law that he was ready to run the business. He got his people, he got his kids, he got his own thing, he's ready.
So, what does Vince do? I'm Trips here. "Eh, you mean to tell me after all I did I don't get to take over after you even though I got the resume to prove it? You mean to tell me my people are being butchered under your hand now? You mean to tell me you're gonna infiltrate my brand and interfere with what we're doing now? You mean to tell me you're going to change our brand completely? Oh so you're firing a lot more of my people? You mean to tell me you're firing my friends? You mean to tell me you're pretty much firing my own successor (Samoa Joe) now?" At the end of the day, he grinded to make NXT what it was and it started messing up. 2019 was the year AEW was announced and that was also the year where NXT sorta changed a bit. It was all due to Vince and his goons. They didn't wanna battle with AEW AND Trips so they just did their thing.
Yeah, Trips made those AEW comments but that's what everybody does about the competition. I've seen people online continuously bringing up those AEW comments as if that was "karma" when the reality is that was a cheap shot not worth all these people being let go. I doubt he'd want his own students to be fired like that regardless of what's said. At the end of the day, AEW didn't do this, it was his own father in law. Regardless of what AEW had going on Vince decided to do this because he had been battling him over this prior to them debuting, AEW just made Vince go "aight, lemme really do something about this."
I'll say this will happen next:
Shawn Michaels will be fired within 6 months. "Triple H has been fired" within the next year or so. If he ain't fired, he'll have lost all his passion for the business because Vince is wiping all of it out. That's just wild.

There might be a few regrets HHH has in life... but at this point calling AEW a "Pissant Company" at the Hall of Fame ceromony might be getting close to the top of the list lmfao. Wait a second, when did he say this? Not a good look it seems on Hunter.

So Joe's gone again, Spud's gone again. I were Zelina I'd be getting real f***ing antsy the second I lost the tag titles. I say this with an extreme amount of "it's all relative", but I think Zelina's safe for the time being. Her winning the Queen of the Ring and the tag titles really does seem to be a Vince thing, as he apparently called her into his office to profusely apologize for leaving her off of the 9/11 show and insisting it had not been done intentionally. It's kind of wild that in 2021, somehow, Vince still had the capacity for some level of shame. Sort of like that last bit of toothpaste in the tube, forced out by flattening it against the counter.

At the Hall of Fame that Bret Hart got jumped I believe, he was joking around with Bill Gunn and said he'd send him back to that "Pissant Company" he works for now, the one that just makes T-Shirts No, it did not age well lol

This whole thing went from a "It's a Marathon, not a Sprint" to HHH's legs being literally chopped off in front of his wife and kids.
It's just kind of like... jaw dropping in a way, how everything seemed to just fall the f*** apart and how quick it did the second NXT was given the task to kill the competition and almost immediately failed.
There's just a lot of irony in the fact NXT was originally made to be the answer to Ring of Honor, and to surpress and smother them out... and then when it was clear they were tasked to punch too high, well, you have Rick Steiner's kid ripping your old logo in half on live television
Quite literally NXT is that Eric Andre Meme where he shoots Hannibals and asks "Why would Hannibal do this?", except HHH is Eric and NXT is Hannibal, just wild man...

I guess we can’t be certain that this all stems from the failure of NXT against AEW. But it’s really hard not to jump to that conclusion. And that’s just really gross. I’ve never been a Triple H fan. The guy just rubs me he wrong way. But he was put in an impossible situation; and is seemingly being punished when he inevitably failed. And a bunch of people have to lose their jobs, because someone has to pay for something that is, ultimately; Vince’s mistake.

I'm just waiting for them to release Io Shirai or for her to just leave Why she's still in developmental after 3 and a half years I will never know, she's really wasting her prime years in that company. This is a woman who was rated as one of the best wrestlers in the world before she even signed for WWE, she didn't need 3 and a half years to learn where the hard cam is. As far as I'm concerned, this is a criminal waste of her talent. Io and Sarray were both regarded as one of the top women's wrestlers on the whole planet when they each signed to the company, now it feels like both have been wasted and neither is going to last much longer, Sarray even more so. It's amazing to me how much WWE just doesn't understand Joshi talent and yknow... how good and valuable they can be as performers. When Io signed for WWE, I thought surely they can't f*** this up, she's going to be a star.
How wrong was I.....

Wait a second, when did he say this? Not a good look it seems on Hunter. "FIRE ME TWICE!? HAH!" The way that line has aged with WWE ACTUALLY FIRING PEOPLE TWICE in that timespan, holy shit...

I'm curious about the psychological impact that this has on the talent as well. You have to imagine that a lot of the performers are going through workplace layoff syndrome right now in that they are basically suffering survivors guilt. I can't imagine morale being any lower than it currently is for a lot of the NXT stars who were there before the big 2.0 rebranding. Because their future is pretty much toast as long as they are stuck in WWE.
And I doubt they are going to axe Io considering if they do, the women's division in NXT is completely done. And it'll probably piss off the 4HW as well, as all but Becky (and its mainly because she hasn't been asked for her thoughts on Io) have put Io over massively as someone who should be a face of the women's division in all of WWE. It also helps that she's one of the few actual draws on the show.

I imagine of all the women in NXT right now Io is the most safe because of what you said that the 4H would absoloutley go to bat for her because they know her value and have strongly constantly put her over in every interview they have been asked about her. Johnny Gargano put her over huge on his twitch stream after he left NXT. Damian Priest practically fawns over her (smart man). So she has a alot of very strong backers.

The real kicker here is John Lauranaitis was in charge of the total clusterf*** that was FCW... maybe Vince has dementia.

Everyone in the world went to bat for Regal and said how much he meant to their careers and upbringing and he got cut... I'm just saying I'm not gonna be shocked at this point.

Io should, by normal logic, be safe but so should have Braun.

Oh I am not saying she is completely immune to any of this shit because no one is but of all the women currently in NXT I believe she is the most safe though.
