It's amazing that Madame Web may very well end up NOT being the worst superhero movie of the year. It's even more amazing that the studio that released Madame Web may end up releasing a superhero movie worse than that. I think it's safe to say that the worst superhero movie of the year is already wrapped up: It's now expected to bomb so hard it'll make Madame Web and Kraven look like Infinity War and Endgame. I seriously have not seen any commercials nor any promotion whatsoever for this film. I didn't know it was coming out THIS FRIDAY. This is gonna be a bigger bomb than the Trinity Test.

Lionsgate bought the distributing rights in North America, and that's the only region that is getting any promotion whatsoever... and what little promotion Lionsgate has done has been botched massively. It's currently tracking to take as little as $6 million its opening weekend.

Sony's too stubborn to sell and too stupid to know how to make a good movie. I cant think of any of the characters they own who would be able to hold a movie by themselves. Other than Venom who they've shot their load with already. Other than possibly Spider-Man variants--Spider-Man Noir might actually work as a TV show. They've got some cool villains--but none of which can solo carry a movies, and have no interesting heroes to carry a movie to oppose said villains. It's amazing how much they succeeded with Venom as opposed to their other non Spider-Man movies. For Venom the makers realized "f*** it, we ain't gonna win awards, let's make the movies actually fun." And they're not fun in the meme way, they're movies you can just quick back and have a good time while watching them.

With Venom it helps that he was an incredibly popular character in the 90s and early 00s.

I just saw Sony has the rights to Miles Morales.
Erm... why don't they just do a Miles movie? Miles is great. He's sitting right there whilst they do crap like Madame Webb. A Miles movie with Mr. Negative as the villain has the potential to be great.

A Miles movie with Mr. Negative as the villain has the potential to be great. It's animated, but they've done two Miles movies so far. One of them won an Oscar.

Yeah, Venom benefits a lot from the fact he's a super popular, high profile character whose only previous movie appearance was total ass (and still made a ton of money) so even with the weird sans-Spider-Man approach there was intrigue in seeing more of him. Nobody outside of diehards cares about Morbius or Madame Web and Kraven isn't much better.

I still don't know what possessed them to Jared Leto's Joker this. Fortunately the director has been kind enough to tell us why:

Wait a second. The Crow? Kraven the Hunter? KRAVEN? K-Raven? Raven, Crow? This HAS to be some kind of cosmic sign.
