This is a good example of where someone should say "yeah that was a dumb thing I said" and admitted error, but they can't bring themselves to do it so they keep trying to defend the initial dumb shit and make themselves look like an even bigger twat. Well it turns out that Noah Berlatsky is a former spokesperson for a paedophilia advocacy group and in his career as a film critic has had equally dumb things to say about Casablanca and Schindler's List.

I looked up the dude's article on Schindler's List and it feels like this guy in general is just one of those people who's kind of trying to do the enlightened centrist thing while having no f***ing clue what he's actually talking about? The whole thing basically boils down to, "Fascism is bad, and this movie says fascism is bad, but it's not doing enough to explain why it's bad," like he's looking for an educational documentary and not, like, a movie made for the purposes of being a movie.

So anyways, kinda looking forward to this, I enjoy all the Indy films and yes even Crystal Skull, it was a fun entertaining movie with some absurd moments that didn’t really bother me really

Spoiler for the fate of a beloved character: {Spoiler}{Spoiler}{Spoiler} {Spoiler}{Spoiler}Wait, really? Look, I know Mutt wasn't particularly well liked, and Shia LeBeouf is an asshole, but killing him off like this just feels incredibly mean-spirited.

{Spoiler}Wait, really? Look, I know Mutt wasn't particularly well liked, and Shia LeBeouf is an asshole, but killing him off like this just feels incredibly mean-spirited. {Spoiler}Ultimately I think it just came down to LeBeouf being an asshole. He spent about ten years slating Crystal Skull and acting like he'd have to lower his standards to consider doing another Indy movie, pissing off Lucas, Spielberg and Ford. As cynical as Ford is about Han Solo, he adores being Indy.
Plus there's precedent – Sean Connery refused to even so much as record an audio cameo in Crystal Skull, so Lucas and Spielberg killed Henry Sr. off rather than just leave his character out.
And it was directed by the guy who killed Wolverine.

only two of the original trilogy are good. i'll take Crystal Skull over Temple of Doom and Willie Scott any day. It takes all sort I guess. Couldn't disagree more personally 😂

I mean, is it really necessary to explain that Nazis were bad? *looks around* Okay, maybe it's a fact that has become lost on a few people, yeah.

Just back from it tonight here in the UK, I thought that was a really fun film.
Definitely more of a fitting send off than Crystal Skull would’ve been.
Honestly Disney should not have ran the risk of premiering the movie at Cannes because this film is much better than the initial reviews made it sound.

The bigger problem is we’re going backwards with the franchise and using Nazis as the bad guys again. At least the last movie realized it was set in the 50s and the Soviets and Marxist ideology were the threats to the world.

That guy looks like Son of Sam I looked up some of Berlatsky’s articles, and Berkowitz seems less satanic.

This was better than I thought it was gonna be. I do hope this is Ford's last outing as Indy. Phoebe Waller-Bridge can definitely pick up the slack in future films of there are any. {Spoiler}{SPOILER: CLICK TO SHOW}Yes, there is time travel in the movie. Voller uses the dial in hopes of killing Hitler and winning the war, but it instead sends them back to Archimedes' time. The Nazis are killed quickly, and Indy want to stay in that time, but Helena knocks him out. They go back to 1969, and Marion shows up where they reenact the "Where does it hurt" scene.

I had a good time watching it. It's got-dang Indiana Jones, and he's back to beating up Nazis.
One thing you can always count on with Harrison Ford is that he doesn't half-ass being Indy, he brings it as Indy all the time. The man f***ing loves being Indy.

I enjoyed it quite a bit. Phoebe Waller-Bridge was fantastic, Ford killed it, and I’ll watch Mads Mikkelsen in anything. Never captured the magic of the original trilogy, but still worth a watch. It is too f***ing long tho, that’s probably my biggest complaint

Much better than the previous installment. Enjoyed it a lot actually and I really liked the addition of Phoebe Waller-Bridge. It did not have the same magic the first three did, but this one did a decent job attempting to capture that.
