It has my attention at least but I'll kind of wait to pay it much mind until it's seen how it actually does and whether it supports external storage. Storage space is going to be a major killer in regards to this thing and not like the Steam Machine lit the world on fire.
Also those button placements look horrifically uncomfortable.

I was really interested in this, then I saw the pricing and storage options and that faded really quickly. 64 gigs is like, one modern game.
And it sunk in how terrible that button layout is.

Digging around on the site they actually do clarify in fine print that it does support micro SD cards so the storage thing isn't really a big deal.

Also, hot damn those are expensive prices. I guess it would be worth a purchase for someone who already owns & plays a lot of Steam games so it would get a lot of use. (But then they would need at least a few external storage devices to get all of their games on.)

This literally seems to be a portable PC with the game controls built in.
You could put a fresh Windows install on it, so I don't see anything preventing you from making this the ultimate emulation machine (Play more Nintendo games than you can on the Switch!) , or it effectively being a portable X-Box Game Pass machine.
But that 64GB size is a gimmick to be able to advertise a 399 price. That's wayyyy too small.
EDIT: from the Steam page

I was expecting something completely different (or at least, another Steam Controller thing) but this actually looks really cool.
I’ll wait to see how it reviews and tests but yeah, that makes a good first impression.

the button layout is a mess, and this is steam so I suspect this will last like a year or two tops... like the Steam Link... and the Steam Controller.
and literally all of their attempts at hardware but their VR headset.

Hmm, I'll pick one up. Be a cool couch gaming machine, but oof @ potential 2 hour battery life.

I mean, the specs are pretty solid. If you can run anything in the Steam library at 60 FPS on a handheld, plus being able to install Windows/other stores, that's a good deal for the price. Now can you run anything in the Steam library at 60 FPS, is my question.

This seems more for convenience than anything else.
But for those prices and the ammount of storage no f***ing way.

So it uses one of AMD's APU's as its processor. That's one of those chips that combines CPU and GPU functionality on one card. It's always been fascinating technology to me. Like, a dedicated, separate GPU is still going to be way better for top-tier PC gaming, but APU's are significantly more powerful and capable than your standard integrated graphics.

So some cool details on the website. Supports Micro SD cards, so storage shouldn't be a huge problem. Also, you can hook it to a tv or monitor and connect bluetooth controllers/keyboards. So basically it's a more powerful Switch that can act as a sort of PC or console.

Honestly as someone who largely plays indie or less computer intensive title, this thing looks really good to me. Especially with how damn good the fan game scene is, having stuff like Sonic Robo Blast 2, Streets of Rage Remake, or TMNT Rescue Palooza on the go would be awesome.
