So basically WWE is like “Meh, you guys can have them.” And FOX is like “Are you guys F***ING CRAZY?!”

If I were Fox, I wouldn't be happy either, between what has gone on and not getting NXT, I think they would be wary during the next around of tv contract negotiations again.

I think the weirder thing about their comments is, like, the fans chant his name all the time. Even if it's for irony purposes, nobody thought to at least give it some kind of shot? They got in a bidding war over Cain Velasquez for crying out loud. As with so much else of what WWE does, this just smacks of wrestling company self-loathing. We don't care about that fake fighter CM Punk...he couldn't even hack it in UFC. We want someone with legitimacy and mainstream cache, like Cain Velasquez! We're not a w*estling company, we're an entertainment company, dammit!

I feel like we sometimes underestimate how much FOX getting passed on FS1 changed a lot of history for those shows. Like, I'm pretty sure they were going to make it a big deal on FS1 and put Backstage right next to it as a Smackdown hype show as well and...then they didn't get it and slapped it on a Tuesday morning where people will absolutely not watch it. Then people are like "Well, that failed". Really?! I expected it to be a massive success. And I could get it if, like, they were going to use him like he was in AAA but...he was just an MMA dude. And then he never showed up again. It was so weird.

"OMG KEVIN NASH WTF THOUGHT HE WAS DEAD LOL" I'm so glad Punk was able to come out on top in those verbal exchanges with Nash. I'll be honest, he was always my favourite promo guy in WWE. As much as he was made to play second fiddle to The Rock, he still blew Dwayne's nostalgia act out of the water, every time, to me. In hindsight, that was one big derailing clusterf***, so at least Punk sprinkled in really entertaining moments throughout it. Even if it legit pissed Nash off lol mobile.twitter.com/RealKevinNash/status/1420626123919085570Someone’s salty.

I hope someone's drinking a can of Pepsi on Dynamite next week.

But Punk's UFC losses actually RAISED my opinion of him, because he was taking a risk doing something new, and because he was so savvy about it. Dude didn't expect to win (although I do not think he expected to lose quite so quickly). He expected to make ridiculous amounts of money on a lark he's wanted to try for a long time.

So Cutler retweeted this post. Man, I need to see him eat a GTS now. I await Waffle House's response to Nash.

So WWE's management convinced themselves Punk isn't a big deal or a draw worth chasing and they're totally justified and right for not seeing him as a star because all they exist in is f***ing WWE Management World, and the people who are paying WWE boatloads of money are screaming into pillows because WWE let two big names slip through their fingers that aren't going to be ratings pulls for their network now. This is "Vince knows what's really best" on a massive scale and kind of says everything about Vince's perception of star power and the audience.

I just had that cringe face on when he said that. Makes me hope that Tony has talked to both men and has at least cleared things up with them. I know his signing is supposed to be fairly hush hush, but I would hope he'd get Colt's feelings on the matter.

So just to bring it up even though I doubt this will be happening as well, but Brock Lesnar also isn't signing back with WWE per reports.
I doubt he's going to AEW. Rumors have him going back to MMA actually and signing with one of those promotions. But it is worth noting with how FOX seems to already be upset about Bryan and Punk being allowed to walk away.

One can only imagine FOX’s reaction if WWE let Brock walk away, on top of Bryan and Punk.

If they get both Punk and Bryan, WWE is not going to be happy, to say the least. Those are two massive stars who balked at WWE and went to the new, cooler company. WWE better be thankful for those TV deals.

Surely, FOX has to understand that there was LESS THAN Zero chance that Punk was going to walk back into a company that has HHH and Steph in it. ESPECIALLY not with Dr. Z-Pack still there.

Who is WWE at this point; Vince, Stephanie, Hunter, Brucie, Johnny Ace, and Nick Khan. Which one of them is going to understand the entire pro wrestling community as a whole?
