Zayn has been an instant channel-changer for me for at least a year now but if there's any company that could rehab him for me it's AEW. Same with Owens; I know it's down to how they're booked and used rather than any failings on their end.

If you look at Twitter, Owens' location is "almost there." The Bucks' location is "there." I like how blatant he got once the date of his contract was revealed. To be fair it's felt like he's been mailing it in for a bit... this may be why

I think even if Sami Zayn left WWE and went to another company, he'd still be Sami Zayn (or go as Rami Sebei). El Generico is probably a phase of his career he's done with and wouldn't want to revisit outside of the nostalgia pop. He and Steen could be a lot of fun in AEW, but I'm not like, chomping at the bit to see them there, either. Though maybe I'm still buzzing over both Adam Cole and especially Bryan Danielson in the company. Bryan, in particular, is one of my favorites of all time (first wrestler I bought a t-shirt for since The Rock), so I'm over the moon about that. Regardless, I'd love to see Generico come out of retirement for a Dark match or something lol

Putting this here because of Alba It was possible Kevin was just trolling with his AEW hints... but as I said he looked checked out in WWE and looked like he wanted out. He's had an amazing career there at least. Like he can happily walk away and pursue something else and have nothing to be ashamed of. He was one of the few guys I can look at and say they weren't just flat out killed on the main roster. He did a lot worthwhile.

If WWE has somehow managed to book Sami Zayn to the point people don't want to see him, that is most certainly on them rather than Zayn. His intro and match against Cesaro on NXT made Paul Heyman's jaw drop (and mine) for a reason.

I'd love to see Owens turn up in AEW, I could comfortably live without Zayn. Been years since I've at all enjoyed him.

I think Steen’s WWE run kind of encapsulates why the argument “they couldn’t have been used poorly, look at all the belts/kayfabe accomplishments they’ve gotten!” doesn’t hold up great.
Not saying he’s been used terribly or buried or anything hyperbolic like that, he’s clearly built a name for himself in WWE and gotten lots of featured spots and the money that comes with them, but he’s won basically every belt there is to win in that company and still might end up leaving it as…I don’t want to say “just another guy”, but basically as someone who doesn’t stand out huge against the backdrop of WWE as a whole, despite being a former top champion and main eventer.

Doesn't really help that his title run was pretty damn bad anyway. He had the belt for six months and the entire thing was basically just getting his ass kicked by Seth and Roman every week then he lost the title in a squash.

Personally, I want to see Zayn in AEW because he's been spinning his wheels for years on end over there. When even Roman Reigns is giving quotes about how he'd like the company to use Sami better, I can't hold that against the talent. It's clear that creative has failed him and he's just trying to make the most of it.

Steen needs a fresh start somewhere else. Anywhere else.

Sami Zayn is one of the all-time great natural babyfaces, who has utterly mastered how to bump and sell for sympathy, and whose comebacks are as hot as the sun. In NXT, he really perfected a lovable everyman character to go with that skillset. He came to the main roster practically gift-wrapped to fill the void that was left when Daniel Bryan had to retire for a few years. And he's been a heel for years. To me, that says it all.

I don’t really agree with that. He’s had a fantastic run on the main roster with tons of memorable feuds and matches pretty much throughout his entire tenure, even putting aside any kayfabe accomplishments.

I'm not sure anyone posted this earlier, but Fightful reported today that the Fall 2021 for Sami Zayn date out there is not correct. WWE sources have not given any other information about it.
So again for anyone reading this: January 2022 for Kevin Owens and the other news floating around about Sami Zayn is not true.
