I think they need to be careful not to set people’s expectations too high with debuts, but Owens is another no brainer signing if they can make it. Yeah, WWE has plenty of time between now and January to woo KO.

Fightful subscriber here. Key month: This January. It may also be why Kevin tweeted then deleted the coordinates to mount rushmore this morning. I think the person that I saw this from deleted it, but I remember there being a tweet of someone saying "AEW's not done, give it another 4-ish months" after Punk's debut. This matches that timeline pretty well. I'd say that Steen to AEW is as good as done and we just need to see if WWE's going to even put up a fight for him in these last months of his deal.

Bray... Steen... and Generico. That would be a HUGE second wave of talent to this new era if they got them. The crazy part is they're absolutely fine if they don't get any of them... but getting them wouldn't hurt anything either. Especially Steen who has a built in easy story just like Cole did when he came back.

I think even if Sami Zayn left WWE and went to another company, he'd still be Sami Zayn (or go as Rami Sebei). El Generico is probably a phase of his career he's done with and wouldn't want to revisit outside of the nostalgia pop.
He and Steen could be a lot of fun in AEW, but I'm not like, chomping at the bit to see them there, either. Though maybe I'm still buzzing over both Adam Cole and especially Bryan Danielson in the company. Bryan, in particular, is one of my favorites of all time (first wrestler I bought a t-shirt for since The Rock), so I'm over the moon about that.

He won't be free agent until sometime in 2022. Sami missed a lot of time and WWE will tack on to his deal. I agree with Owens/Steen he seems like perfect fit for AEW. Unless Vince offers him a lot of money(which he might considered how bad WWE looking losing all these stars).I think he will come to AEW next year.

Obviously I won't be sad if he doesn't come though... hard to be sad someone might not come after All Out and who signed to the damn company lol.

But if they didn't sign anyone else for the next 6 months. I would totally be fine with that given what we got the past few months. Black, Punk, Cole and Danielson are going to be huge for them. That said I think Tony Khan is trying to build best possible roster. So if adding guys like Wyatt or Owens. Stops Brian Cage, Matt Hardy, Orange Cassidy, Ethan Page, Scorpio Sky, Jake Hager or Dustin Rhodes from getting on tv as much. Well that sucks for those guys. But protecting their spots isn't a reason to pass on good talent. It's as simple as most over guys with crowd and in the ratings will get most tv time. While having more talent will only make Elevation or Dark more stacked shows.

For sure he definitely fits in much better there than where he is (I mean that's true of most of the talent, lol) but he has built in history just like Cole so he would slot in very nicely. I'm just not that interested in Owens or Zayn showing up as I would be for Balor or Ricochet. But who knows, with the shackles taken off maybe I'll start enjoying them more, but I've only ever liked Steen and Generico in ROH. So we'll see what happens.

Just to throw this out there, SRS denied the Zayn quoted date.

Just to throw this out there, SRS denied the Zayn quoted date. Yeah, there's nothing about Sami's contract date on the front page of fightful's patreon. Fightful does keep a list of upcoming contract dates so unless the person who added Sami's stuff got it there or from some other rumor, SRS is not reporting it. The news on fightful select news today was strictly about KO.

Owens can certainly use a fresh start somewhere else as he’s rather stale in WWE after all these years of being featured.
I do wonder at what point AEW reaches that saturation point where they have brought in too many top talents that need TV time that you start seeing some current AEW stars, including homegrown stars, looking to switch to WWE when their contracts expire.

If you look at Twitter, Owens' location is "almost there."
The Bucks' location is "there."

Yeah, he’s the kind of guy when he becomes available, you find room for him and get him.

Steen and Zayn are probably the last two big signings, unless they can really get crazy and get Cena or something.
