More annoyed than angry but someone went and got themselves a girlfriend and now everyone in that fandom feels the need to put their thoughts out about it/her, and it's the most tedious thing. Sigh. Ahh...yes. Kelce/Swift? The Swifties are a wild bunch Nah, it's actually in the wrestling fandom. |

I went to trim my sideburns and didn't realise the shaving guard had fallen off.
Luckily my hair is very long right now so I can cover my one bald sideburn fairly easily but still 😔

Luckily my hair is very long right now so I can cover my one bald sideburn fairly easily but still 😔 I was once clipping my hair. I was done so I took the attachment off. Then I decided one spot needed a bit more. I forgot that the attachment had been removed and ran the bare clipper up the middle of my head. I stood there in disbelief touching where my hair had been for a couple of minutes. Then tried to see if I could use a short attachment before realizing that the only option was to shave it all off.
It kinda worked though because I was in a play as a soldier not long after.

I went all the way to the head office today to pick up a security key that I'll need to be able to continue working remotely and then went to run some errands. At some point it somehow or other fell out of the pocket in my bag I put it in and I can't find it. It's not a HUGE deal and my team leader assured me I can just get another one, but my week was already going really shitty, today especially, so I just feel like a complete moron. I just need something to go right for me for once 😮💨.

My company updated its operating system over the weekend. We have been testing it out for weeks to make sure it would work right and all employees were given access to a test database to learn how the new system will work.
We went live this morning. The system is slow as crap. A bunch of the processes we validated don’t work now. It seems like nobody practiced on the new system because they are all running around crying for help with the most simple of transactions. IT is overwhelmed with help desk tickets. Managers are panicking because they cannot generate their daily reports.
Pretty much how I expected things to go.

I made a very stupid mistake at work. I've been going thorugh a rough time this whole year, and it turns out my head was spinning so much I completely forgot to keep track on an important transaction that directly affects the work we do the rest of the year. This had to be done by march, and by now it might be too late.
Hopefully I can get this fixed (and luckily it seems the third party in question is more than happy to keep working with us regardless) but I'm still kicking myself over it, and I'll probably keep doing so for a good while.
So I made myself angry today. Hooray!

Had to take my car in to get a broken windshield replaced. It is covered under a warranty, so I just ended up going to the place the dealership sent me to.
Sitting in the waiting room and the only reading material is political propaganda. Even a shelf of what I can only describe as anti critical race theory kids books.
Like I just want a magazine to browse that isn’t Newsmax. I didn’t even know Newsmax did print.
Thank goodness for phones.

Not angry, but annoyed. But the state of online journalism today. It seems impossible to get an article on something--whether it's a recipe, video game tips, an explanation of a part of a TV show etc without it being full of absolute irrevelant fluff. The one that annoyed me the most was this article about how much the owner of the Breaking Bad house made from the show. www.ladbible.com/entertainment/tv/breaking-bad-house-owner-money-made-184431-20240805After 500 words of fluff and bollocks. The article never actually reveals how much the owner got paid. What a complete waste of time. What a waste of an article. Went to pick up a package.
Was informed it had already been picked up yesterday.
While I was at work.
By someone not showing ID or any kind of confirmation that they had stolen it.
I was, and still am, furious, to say the least.
Monetary value I don't give a shit about, but how the f*** am I supposed to get another collection of Fighting Fantasy-personel autographs when at least two of them have passed away?

I had a day off yesterday.
On Tuesday, about five minutes after I left for the day, an invitation went out for a two hour dinner and gaming event at Dave & Busters to be held Wednesday.
Yesterday.
The day I was off.
And my boss didn’t do much as text me to say, “I know it’s your day off but if you want free food you can come.”
And this morning my inbox is flooded with emails from people saying what a wonderful time they had and how great the food was and blah blah blah blah.

Weeks back had to go buy two new tires. Cheapest place I know usually has their TV on either sports,never cared about them,or some religious programming. Packed the 3 vol of Moore's run on Miracleman and my headphones. Read some great comics while listening to XTC. So local junkstore is only open Friday and Saturday. Opens at 8am and closes whenever the owner wants to. She will not hold any item for you,first come first serve. Only takes cash. Cool with all this. Every Thursday on her business page she will post close to 100 pics of what is for sale on Friday.  See that posted. Reply with How Much. Get up at 7am drive up there. By 745am there is 30 people crowded up by the barn,I know the Halloween decoration is in the cottage so sitting in a chair by it. Cottage is opened not long after 8am. I walk in. It aint in the corner in front of the DVD shelves. I look around there it is over on the side BIG ASS NOT FOR SALE sign on it!!! Why post a picture of the item if it aint for sale. Laady running the place was nice cut me a deal on the DVDs i bought. Still if I known it wasn;t for sale could have slept till 9am and rolled up still got the dvds. |

Cashier forgot to ask for my rewards card at the store today and I was distracted and forgot it too. Fine, mistakes happen, took it up to customer service and had to remember the digital coupons I intended on using-- bless the manager for being patient and crediting me for them. Got about $40 back, felt ok about it until I get home and the people I was shopping for still found ways to nag me and make me feel shitty. Sigh.

A real piece of work got onto my phone today and started f***ing around with it. They got into my Gmail and started deleting stuff, some stuff that goes back to 2006 and includes things like interactions with people no longer alive.
Fortunately I THINK I was able to recover everything. I’ll refrain from going into all the specifics of what happened, but I guess any time I’m not staring directly at my phone I’m going to have to stick it in my underpants, even if I’m dealing with a medical emergency.

I've got a six day vacation starting Thursday, I'm supposed to be flying to Vegas Friday morning, and with roughly 85 hours until then I am sick as a dog.
Don't want to call in to work tomorrow with a vacation about to start, and it's an in office day too.
Worried I might have wasted several hundred dollars on flights and a hotel, and may miss a chance to see my friends, but right now I can barely make it from the couch to my shower to warm up. Vegas would kill me.
