This isn't something that necessarily makes me angry, I just have to get it off my chest Rant: Dating apps in 2024 Why are these even still a thing in the year 2024? A buddy of mine told me a few months ago that I should try dating apps because let's be honest it's hard to find a good woman in today's economy and I kept saying no, I wouldnt do it cause they suck until I caved in and tried Facebook Dating like back in July. Why Facebook Dating? Because if they have mutual friends, it's easier to vet. Anyway, I matched with a few women over the course of the couple months and I've realized that unless you don't go into extremely graphical detail about your life and you try to hold simple conversation, people simply aren't interested. I matched with one woman and after 3 days she told me she wasn't looking for a penpal. Okay, then what's the point of talking if you're not interested in talking and are ready to meet up after a few days? Not to mention I've gone onto other social media platforms and people have had the same ******** results happen to them, on other apps. Either the people got weird, or some were just flat out ghosted. What's the point of putting yourself out there if you have no interest in talking to someone, and instead you HAVE to meet them within the month? My son is still with a person he matched with during Covid, but it’s the kind of relationship that my wife and I just do not get. It’s an open relationship (my boy was BF#2) and they’ve both been in other relationships during this one. It’s just the two of them now, though I don’t know if that’s by choice or not. My point is that I suspect that dating apps aren’t properly set up for my generation. I think if something were to happen to my marriage that I’d just be single forever because there’s no chance I’d mess with modern courtship. |

Have had health issues for most of the year and the Doctors still don't know what's causing it. Doesn't make me angry at the Doctors, just...annoying.

I don't get it That is why after my grandfather passed I started doing Xmas with my GF's family. My family can not get together once a year for a few hours without yelling over minor things. Finally the year Paw Paw passed it wwas Xmas day I had said days before I wasn't doing good and rather stay at home that year. Got tallked into going. Then the yelling starts. I got up walked out the door and my plan was to walk home. It is a bit over a 3 hours drive home from where I was. I made it 1 mile down the road,GF called me to make sure I was ok. And asked if I wanted her to drive down get me. Nope I sat at a baseball field for an hour. Then once I was calm called my father told him I was walking back. And asked if he could take me to a friends place. |

So the lines at the grocery store are backed up, long. I'm at the end right behind a very elderly woman with lots of groceries. She had to be in her late 70s/80s.
I see they're about to open up a new line. I tell the elderly woman in front of me "I think they're about to open up a new line, you should move there and ask."
She thanks me, ppl start moving, I take my place behind a woman (30s) at the point in the original line who would probably initially be transferred over to the new line. She stares a dagger at me like I called her a bitch. I just say "what's up?"
New lines formed. Dagger lady gets the front of the new line and doesn't hesitate, doesn't consider letting the much older woman go first.
Fortunately I turn over and see two men, one ky age, anda guy in his 50s/60s let the very old woman go ahead of him. So...I was pissed but those two dudes kind of restored my faith in humanity.

I sent an email asking "Do you want me to do A or B?" and got a reply that was basically "Yes." And A and B are very different legal drafting strategies. And this happens not infrequently. Don't get me started on people who answer "the former" or "the latter" without knowing what "the former" or "the latter" mean.  |

Pupper, about 5 or 6 months old, showed up at my door yesterday in the morning. Have been trying to look for it's owner, only for someone today to confirm they witnessed the owner tossing him off a car in a park that's not really near my area at all, meaning he has been walking around non stop. Breaks my heart, but now I gotta focus on finding him a new home. People are shit, man. Some dude wrote asking for the pupper. Seemed pretty interested. As soon as it got to agreeing on a date for him to meet the pupper, the dude ghosted me. People are f***ing shit. |

Been single for almost 3 years now and the loneliness hit me pretty hard today. Lots of negative self talk. Still using the dating apps but I guess I'm too weird for the local dating pool or something. I dunno. Just really sucks and I have to get out of my head about it somehow.
For extra context, the first thing recommended to me on Tinder today was literally just a picture of a Costco hotdog called "Costco hotdog" and it's like, how an I supposed to meet anyone if the only accounts insee are literal jokes and obvious scam accounts?

Took my car in this morning to get it serviced, put on my winter tires and fix my hood latch and the cable it attaches to. Almost 5 hours later I get a call that when they ordered the latch they assumed it would come with the cord. It didn't. They tried fir 2 hours to make it work and apparently made it worse. Now I'm going to have to go back at some point. Also, they told me the shuttle would be calling me shortly to bring me back to the dealership. That was 45 minutes ago and I still haven't heard from them. I work the night shift and just want some sleep.
Edit: after an hour of waiting for the shuttle to let me know they were coming I started walking to the dealership. About five minutes later they called me, then finally picked me up 15 minutes after that. I think the guy was planning to charge me for the labour from when they were trying to fix my hood without all the parts. However, when I went to the service desk that wasn't included in my price and I wasn't about to correct them after all this. Gotta go back in two weeks to finish the job.

I didn't get the flat i went to see yesterday. The people pretty much strung me along and talked up how perfect i would be and made a comment that they'd see the other candidates out of formality, made other comments and gave me a contract which made me think it was a sure thing. Then they added a fourth person to view and went with them instead.
I wouldn't be as f***ed off if they had just said they'd see everyone first before making a decision. Shame because it would've been perfect for me.

So, I have the habit of wishing "happy birthday" to my Facebook friends (I don't know why but I feel that if you have it as a friend there or know them personally, at least wish them happy birthday). I wish someone "happy birthday" and I recently learned that person removed from their contacts. This is like the second time it happened. Maybe they don't like to get birthday wishes but weird behaviour to remove someone from their contacts because of that (at least that's what I think).
