THEY BUGGING, lmao. Just throwing anything and everything at this match, the f*** type of sense did this make? So, you’ve either telegraphed the finish beyond all doubt OR you get to go back on a stip y’all made because ain’t no way Roman missing tv.
Like, if Cena won this, and then Roman issued a challenge for Survivor Series with this stip after his first big L as the tribal chief, that’s something you can get juice out of. This is just nonsense.

What are they more petty about: Breaking Flair's 16 time record Passing Punk's 434 day modern era record (edit: or did that happen already?)

This is just nonsense. Like, if the story was that Roman and Cena can't be in the same company together and you have a loser leaves stip, sure, yeah, because Roman's promos have to do with the fact Cena is apparently boring and redundant and Cena...apparently doesn't believe the office should be blamed for anything, I don't know. But how does "You were to blame for Dean Ambrose leaving WWE" lead to "Ok, fine, I'll leave if I lose the title"? Considering what I know of this story, nothing hinted at that.

Couldn't they AT LEAST kayfabe it and saying "Roman's contract expiring after Summerslam".
So either Cena leaves WWE with the title or Roman leaves WWE with title.

They must have something wacky planned or they wouldn’t seemingly give away the finish. I choose to believe they’ve landed the Rock. They gotta counter Punk, somehow get to Roman/Rock and make something memorable happen. So that’s prediction. Rock is showing up tomorrow. Summerslam is tonight. 🙂 I know, I don’t consider it the next until I’ve gone to sleep and woken up.

The build to this match has sucked. You have a mega dominant heel and a returning mega babyface who is the biggest star you've created in the last 15-20 years. This should have been an easy feud to book and instead it's been filled with stupid worked shoot crap, that weird detour with Finn Balor that made Cena look a bit of a dick and now this huge stip tacked on with 5 minutes left of the go home show. Just a mess. WWE always overthinks easy things. Remember the Bret Hart return and feud with Vince where they involved a billion fake swerves and car accidents for no reason That Bret/Vince match at WM went on for an ETERNITY. Like a quick squash then Sharpshooter would've sufficed.

I wonder if maybe it's just an ass-backwards way to set up a rematch sometime in the next few weeks where Cena conversely puts his career up for another shot.

Gotta say. I’ll be alittle tickled if people get upset at Roman’s title reign beating Punk’s “record” because they’re just waiting for Rock’s schedule to clear up.
It’s the same reason Punk had the belt so long. Time is a flat circle

Roman leaves, pops up at one of their satellite promotions like Evolve and the WWE pretend it's the same thing as the indie wrestling shared universe that's popped up during Covid, where only the WWE are on the outside. 'Oh my god, he could pop up anywhere next! Just nowhere important that isn't affiliated with us.'

Really if any feud could have used the "staredown and both wordlessly turn to the Wrestlemania Summerslam sign" build it was this one. The wide audience is completely down for this match it seems and they didn't need all this stuff tacked onto it.

So from what I've looked further upon, Roman basically claimed he can also star in movies and commercials etc so decided that if he loses, he'll quit...
But Cena is able to do movies, commercials and wrestle so wouldn't that just make Roman look like a dumbass for not being able to do both and lose potential income?
And what agent is he going to get for this if he loses? Smart Mark Sterling?

How this feud wasn't just Cena (WWE's Superman/Captain America) returning to stop big bad Roman Reigns from continuing his evil ways and not covering it in shoot promos and nonsense really escapes me.

Because Cena just had to mention non-sensical lines like Roman ran "Dean Ambrose out of WWE". Then the promos just got weird.

Indeed, no one believes he is going anywhere. There is no suspension of disbelief, bad booking 101.

Indeed, no one believes he is going anywhere. There is no suspension of disbelief, bad booking 101. I'm of the notion that at 9:50pm, they did an audible when they knew 100% Punk was going to debut. Something to take from their spotlight. And it did NOTHING. Maybe last week, with a week to build on it, sure. Now? What a joke.

I feel like Cena is just flat out incapable of having a feud that isn't a bunch of weird shooty nonsense at this point. The last time he did was, what, Rusev?
