Not to defend the singer as live I thought it was quite the bad look, but there are stills on tiwtter that have close ups of the signer and it doesn't look as bad. But probably should have gone with a different look.

It clearly did make a huge mistake, because we had a guy in pretty blatant blackface on our screens. Everyone in my Discord call all went silent like 'what the actual ****' at the same time, and seems like the same response across the internet, and nobody in the back was there to go "Ehhhh, maybe this is a bad move?" Idk the band well enough to know if this is the dude's normal look or if he chose a bad color scheme, but it clearly seems to be "Mask, bottom paint, and then a stripe down the mouth/chin Maybe he went black and red because of the BCC colors? The other members of the band went different, but I don't think this was intentional by any of them Clearly it backfired, idk if they'll issue an apology or anything, but there's no way anyone saw the optics of it before going out there, or it wouldn't have happened. If you look up the band’s Instagram, he 100% does the “Man In The Iron Mask” look all the time. It’s just unfortunate/a disaster that he chose to go black on black for probably the most prominent appearance his band’s ever had. I can’t fathom how not a single person looked at him and was like “hey bro, you might want to reconsider…” |

It wasn't INTENTIONALLY blackface, like there's no way they'd put a dude out there with it intending to come off like that at all I think it's memeable, but people are acting like the band intended to do it or AEW made a huge mistake... I don't see how this was intentionally done in any way and they didn't see it going the way it did, clearly. Intentional or not, it was what it was. If no one in the back saw that as a problem that's an even bigger problem Blissful ignorance is not really an excuse for blackface tho. He didn't mean it sure great but everyone and their mother knew that was a bad look when he came on stage Like I look at it as a joke because no f***ing way can that shit fly in todays age. It was clearly a big mistake but one they can't act like didn't happen either This is where I stand as well. While it wasn't an intentional thing, nobody seriously looked at this guy and went, "Yeah, this look ain't it"? |

Whatever the intentions are, you can't go out there with your face painted black. It should be one of those universal things that everyone knows and agrees on. It needs to be designed if it is Like black facepaint like Malakai's makes sense, it's also interwoven with white paint or other designs This wasn't done enough. It didn't help it was half a mask, it should have been painted more black and red, more Wolfpac Sting, less "Racist Predator"? |

That seemed to be the idea with the mouth but it wasn't enough. |

Every champion is white at the moment, and will be for the foreseeable future. other than maybe OC losing it, I don’t see any other champ dropping their titles any time soon.

The QT stuff did him no favors obviously, but Holy hell that collapsed so quickly. No offense to Jade but she should have dropped it to Willow during one of her 50 rematches, so I was just happy to see the TBS title go to anyone else at this point. Acclaimed is a weird one where before they won the titles everyone was howling about FTR not being champs, then we were howling how there wasn't an audible called during their first match with Swerve in Our Glory, so the tag title division is a mess in it's own weird way. Definitely do think they deserve another run with it and not drop it to the lame ass Gunns this time. |

It's very obviously supposed to be in the style of an iron mask. Can we not turn into wrestling Twitter/Reddit and look to try to make a controversy about AEW that can be easily explained? I know some of you are upset because you feel that TK doesn't push black wrestlers. But can we not go overboard with this?

When I first saw this bumped I was horrified that someone had resurrected it to post 'We finally got some black into the main event' and I thought I was going to get to see some carnage.
Yeah this was a horrible idea and like even in music circles you've got to know better. You never go all black like that. You super don't go all black with a red lip. You do like black with a red handprint or something. You do war paint. If I was running the show and the guy showed up like that I'd have had someone running lipstick claw marks across his face or something before sending him out. Just. Something. Did he just walk right by everyone in gorilla like a strung out Jeff Hardy? What the f*** is this.
