Ruby Sunday? sounds like a bond girl name.
as with every change for Doctor Who I'll give it a chance, it can't be written as bad as the last few series (I know beating a dead horse at this point).

If I had a nickel for every time RTD had cast a blonde companion named after a shade of red...
(Honestly though, she looks cool and despite her being born in 2004 being terrifying it does definitely signify a new era.)

Russel T. Davies is back, if you liked him the first time, and if you've seen anything he's done since, it won't be.

I'd love for RTD to pull a feint and seemingly set her up another 21st century companion as expected before revealing her as an alien/android/out of time human as a surprise.

I don't think I have seen anything he's done since doctor who & torchwood (which started off like a really bad fan fiction where they were allowed to have sex scenes and went to stupid levels with it.) and having just checked his imdb page, nope I haven't for various reasons (it's either been up against something else I watch or the adverts did nothing for me interest wise). like I said, I'll give him a chance as the new head writer/show runner. if it's terrible I'll say it... if it's good I'll say it. I do wonder if they'll keep the show out of London more and show more of the U.K. or if everything will happen in space or London again.

Its A Sin is one of those few bits of TV I'd call essential viewing, and as his most recent work, a good look at what RTD is like as a writer in the 2020s.

I'd genuinely say RTD is a better writer now than he was on his first run of Dr Who and back then he was one of the best TV writers in Britain. His writing has really matured, but at the same time, retained his inner philosophy about human goodness.
The new companion is young enough to be my child. I feel quite old. I was a young Dr Who fan once!

The last Doctor Who companion I was younger than was Grace in the TV movie. I'm one year older than Billie Piper, so I've been older than the companion since the revival.
It really doesn't hit you until you're older than The Doctor. And I got that with Matt Smith. And again with Jodie Whittaker. And now third time will be with Ncuti Gatwa.
I dread the day I'll be old enough to be The Doctor's dad.

I wouldn't say Chibs' handling of Torchwood season two was all that 'bad', his episodes there are much stronger

Big Finish: Once and FutureBig Finish is doing a 7 part series all throughout next year (with a coda in November 2024) featuring Doctors 4-10 with the all the actors involved. Wouldn't surprise me to see the recast versions of 1, 2, 3, & War pop up as well.

Maybe I'm reading that press release wrong, but I believe Rob Valentine is replacing the War Master producer Scott Hancock, not Jacobi. Something I'd like to see with that BF Anniversary release is the main seven parts are based around the Doctors involved, but the large focus is with them interacting with other versions not mentioned in the press release, possibly the recast Doctors. 1-3, War, & Unbound crossovers with the others is five stories right there and there's probably other options as far as characters go with the other two, maybe even something out of left field like an appearance by Grant as the Shalka Doctor or maybe even the Valeyard potentially. Basically something like this: Past Lives (Fifth Doctor & the Second Doctor)The Artist at the End of Time (Eighth Doctor & the ?/Shalka Doctor)A Genius for War (Seventh Doctor & the War Doctor)Two's Company (Fourth Doctor & the Third Doctor)The Martian Invasion of Planetoid 50 (Sixth Doctor & the First Doctor)Time Lord Immemorial (Tenth Doctor & the Valeyard)The Union (Ninth Doctor & the Unbound Doctor)Then have some combination of 13, Fugitive, or 14 for the Coda story and its good to go.

Hey, can anyone clear up for me if the 2023 specials are airing across the year or across just November 2023? I’m guessing there’s nothing coming for the festive season this year at all.
