MLW is gonna get slaughtered. Probably to the point of where they have to shut up shop.
Also why is MLW claiming they own Dynamite? That can really backfire on them.

It's more likely that the reporter just f***ed up. That's a "heavily sanctioned by the bar if Court wants to raise hell" level mistake if true. Also, the only reason WWE has been so successful in getting sued is because they get sued by the only people more carny than a wrestling promoter: washed up wrestlers. McDevitt is an attack dog like few others but you can only do so much when defending Vince McMahon. Court is a carny but he's a smart carny with literally nothing to lose

WWE's legal team slaughters their way through MLW, drags off Hammerstone kicking and screaming, and airdrops him into the arena on RAW dressed up in Karrion Kross's bondage outfit.

Damn, WWE is going to eat them up and piss on their gravestone and I don't want that to happen because the more companies the better but this is WWE we're talking about. They've been through worse.
Good luck to MLW. Like, I love underdog stories. I want them to win but nah, WWE loves crushing the underdog.

Eh, I’m not saying MLW would win but we’re fooling ourselves if this goes to court at all considering recent track record of these things.
Someone will ask to settle, MLW will get a chunk of change to STFU, maybe a midcarder cameos at a taping ala Christian Cage and we’ll all move on.
Anything else will be surprising.

I don't think so, considering Reuters is incredibly accurate, and Court is claiming MLW's TV deal is worth $44 million per year. Which is the exact amount AEW is getting paid per year.

Eh, they’re accurate, sure, but they’re not foolproof. And they wouldn’t be the first major news publication to mix up wrestling companies. Like, most of them likely don’t even know there are promotions besides WWE. Obviously, I’ll look at the story later since they do have quick corrections on these things.

I think chances are slim (and that's being generous) that this succeeds, but damn if I'm not rooting for MLW in this.
And yeah, I'm guessing the mention of Dynamite is a reporter mistake thinking MLW is AEW. MLW's press release has no mention of Dynamite at all.

Here's the actual press statement without the reporter's screw-ups.

Here's the actual press statement without the reporter's screw-ups. Appreciated, especially since I feel like if MLW said something like that, they’d have put it in this press release. And they wouldn’t say how much the VICE deal was going to be worth because why would they? EDIT: The PWInsider story didn’t say anything about finances either, where the f*** did Reuters get it from?

I can't get access to the court docs to double check, but either the reporter (who was probably behind deadline for like 7 other wire articles) had to skim the filing docs from MLW and write an article within 10 minutes because who gives a f*** about pro wrestling or Court Bauer is officially on Herb Brooks watch because this is the most batshit attempt at promotion that I've ever seen I assume that Court is claiming that the WWE cost MLW what could have possibly been a $44 million dollar TV deal because that was the market rate for cable TV. That's standard legal hyperbole, not an actual claim of a $44 million dollar contract being terminated.

By some margin.

What WWE did was petty bully bullshit and I hope MLW wins or at least get a nice payout.
Probably unlikely though.

So in other words MLW will be going out of business for the 6th time.

For WWE "vigorously defending" probably means they will have their attorneys continue to file briefs & make MLW to keep spending money on legal fees.

Honestly, I'm most upset that MLW'S attorney isn't Stephen P. Neu.

WWE will likely only persevere because they can out last MLW. For all the credit their legal team gets, they aren't miracle workers and when Vince does illegal shit (like with the World Wildlife Fund), there's no way to get around it. But you need to be able to afford to get to that point. I worry MLW won't be able to get there but I hope they get a chance to make their case.

Depends if MLW’s attorneys are working on contingency or retainer. If the former, then there’s a better chance of that type of legal strategy not working.
