Been shotgunning ROH the past few weeks on DVD and today I'm up to Final Battle 2018, which is probably when I'll stop before the PPV tonight.
One of the extras on the second disc is the first four episodes of The Pinnacle which were used to hype the show, but the first two do a really good job discussing ROH history and impact up to that point. They're about ten minutes each, worth a watch. (Be forewarned Episode 3 and onward has way too much Bully Ray for my taste)

Feeling so weird going into this; this is the promotion that saved my wrestling fandom and made me stick around for good, giving me the desire and the interest in seeking out modern wrestling outside the mainstream bubble after the end of the Monday Night War era, it's the promotion that gave me so many of my all-time favorite performers and matches, it's the promotion that introduced me to puroresu, and now it might be at the end of the road.
I want it to survive this, to come back in a new form it can grow in again.
I want Sinclair Broadcasting out of the picture, and ownership to be in the hands of some less loathsome entity and, ideally, someone who cares about wrestling and the promotion's history.
And I really want the guys and girls in ROH's locker room to all do well, because they've got a boatload of talent there that too many people have spent the last couple of years sleeping on.
Might as well mix a drink and see what happens.

Heeeeey, old school ROH title for the main event! With STP losing, and depending on what happens with Shane Taylor later, I hope this means they might show their faces in AEW if/when their 6 man division start. Taylor is gold, and his crew has tons of potential, they absolutely should be on a big stage (though I'd love to see Taylor get a run in NJPW). |

So much friggin' talent in the ROH women's division right at the end, that women's title tournament might've been the best televised women's wrestling in the US this year, such a shame things are closing up right as it was getting started but there's a ton of great names who'll be out there now.
