I'm kinda glad this topic is still being talked about, tbh. The AE was sort of weird, especially the tail end of it right before the "Invasion" angle. Thanks to everyone who contributed to this thread. I also can't believe The Kat lasted as long as she did. It was what...18 months? Her most memorable feud was with Terri, though Terri lasted WAY longer and had less wrestling skill lol. Terri I think "got" wrestling more, even if she couldn't wrestle, but yeah, she also had considerably more experience as a valet. Also, oh hey, welcome back.

Much appreciated!! I agree with you that Terri understood the business a bit more. What's strange is that The Kat didn't really understand the business, yet was married to Jerry "The King" Lawler, who was a legend in the business. I know that Terri was married to Goldust, who came from a wrestling family, but The Kat really screwed up a decent opportunity. From what I hear, it was her negative backstage attitude that got her canned.

I've heard it said that one of the things that got her heat was messing with married men, which, if that's true, it does definitely shift the blame off of anyone who cheated, but I guess they decided it was going to be a major problem sooner rather than later. Terri is interesting in that her involvement in wrestling predates her involvement with Dustin. She had also dated Pillman before that, apparently, but it was since she was Larry King's makeup artist and would do makeup for the wrestlers on the weekends. She then started doing it more formally after Turner bought WCW, I guess, and Ole Anderson pitched her on being a manager. I guess she only married Dustin in '93, around 3 years into her career. Obviously, though, she's most well known for her period of time with Dustin, and kept his last name for professional use, though I think it helps they seem to tend to stay on good terms.

Woah....she was married to Pillman?? I never knew that. I know she was involved with Goldust and New Jack, but I never knew she was romantically involved with Pillman. That's astonishing. I do know that she was a makeup artist at one point. She was also uneasy about getting in the ring and actually wrestling, but was talked into it. It kinda shows, but at least she tried her best.

Oh, no, I don't think they were married, she just dated Pillman before she was with Dustin. I don't get the impression it was super serious.

Part of me wanted to be empathetic to lawler, her leaving him had to hurt. Another part of me felt like “she’s young enough tube your daughter, what did you expect to happen?” That was when I began to realize it wasn’t all just an on screen act with him.
