I feel it says something how I've changed as a person that I'm fully on Magnetos side and think it's the only sensible choice.

That said, X-men '97 shold adopt Sonic the Hedgehog as their mascot because of how quickly they're trying to speed run decades of X-men stories. So for the record, this season has had segments of: {Spoiler} Days of Future Past Inferno X-Tinction Agenda X-Cutioners Song Fatal Attractions Operation Zero Tolerance Onslaught ( ) Anything else?

I'm sorry, but wrestling fans will know what "Bastion" brings to mind. IF we make that connection, are we supposed to care? Probably not. But I can't take his name seriously because of this, LOL.

Something random I just thought of...
Does 9/11 happen in this universe? (We know it is acknowledged in 616) Because if so, I wonder how it would be viewed after Genosha?
If they got far enough, they could do a "World mourns when it happens to humans, not so much mutants" angle. Assuming they want to go there. Which could be touchy.

I did enjoy the "what were you expecting, black leather?" line. That said, X-men '97 shold adopt Sonic the Hedgehog as their mascot because of how quickly they're trying to speed run decades of X-men stories. It's a TV show. They're the comics. Yeah I know what happens if someone tries to adapt something TOO fast...sup, Parallax? Double sup, Raimi Black Costume Saga? But it hasn;'t hurt my enjoyment of the series, and I do so enjoy it. /Sonic? If I didn't know about the fan project, I'd be down for a Sonic '96 series too. //Yeah, another company altogether.

Who knows how long this show will go. Short seasons, streaming show where they seem to be cancelled randomly, actors getting cancelled or dying, 60 years of source material, super hero fatigue, nostalgia fatigue, etc. I say, go ahead and cram in as much good stuff as you can in as much time as you can.

Not totally the same, of course. Different times too. I get that it's different times, but the show is a direct sequel to that. They have also rushed some important storylines. I'm not saying everything needed 4-5 episodes, but there were several stories that needed more breathing room this season and rushing past them did them a disservice. Hell, Storm in the span of about 10 minutes of screen time apparently meets Forge, falls in love, fights the adversary and gets her powers back. Madelynne Pryor and Inferno got half an episode. Things are moving at a clip and I have generally enjoyed the season. However, if I as a major comics fan, particularly of the X-men am getting dizzy trying to keep up sometimes, I can only imagine how it's going for the uninitiated.

I guess they had to adjust for streaming, and other things. I mean I get your point while also liking it for what it is.

I imagine since this has been a success, next season gets more episodes

I agree with the sentiment about burning through storylines. So many of them could be a status quo for an entire season, but they get an episode apiece, maybe two.
And the characterization suffers for it. The show also feels like it's missing opportunities for great character interactions. At the very end of the 7th episode, one major character returns. But does Morph in the 8th episode react to that character's return? No. Does Beast? No. Does Storm? No. Wolverine? Nope. Do the antagonists react to the character's return? Also no.
Characters get great beats in this show, but only Storm (with Forge) has got a great single character episode. I'd like to see the great character beats contained in a great character episode.

I imagine since this has been a success, next season gets more episodes I'm pretty sure season two is already pretty deep in production, so that seems unlikely. Maybe season three.

I heard a rumour a while back that, because season two may take until 2026 to come out, it'll skip a year in-universe and be rebranded X-Men '99
Can't remember where I saw that, if I did, I'd link the source

Thinking about it, I kinda understand the hotshotting stories complaints a little better now, once I've heard it talked about. The memes too, of course.
(That and moreso since we revisited Spider-Man 3, one of the patron movie saints of hotshotting things. So's, oddly enough, X-Men: The Last Stand!)
I mean, I still like the series, but...
