Star Trek: Deep Space Nine. It's a real pity the TNG remasters didn't sell well enough for Viacom to give a green light to remastering the rest of the shows.

The Clerks Cartoon comes to mind. That show deserves to be on everything, IMHO. Blu-Ray, LaserDisc, VCD, HD-DVD, PSP UMD, Beta, Game Boy Advance cartridges, 8-track, etc. Although I assume the real reason it's not on Blu-Ray is that the entire series came out on DVD long ago and there would need to be some sort of additional extras that weren't on the DVD one to even justify a Blu-Ray re-release.

Pretty sure DS9 was shot on video and thus could not get the treatment TNG and TOS got. Because these where actually shot on 35mm. DS9 on Bluray would look like utter garbage.

DS9 and Voyager were shot on 35mm film. In fact, some scenes from DS9 were remastered in HD and reframed in widescreen for the What We Left Behind documentary. The major technical hurdle would be the VFX shots, which - like TNG - were composited on video. Worse still, later seasons ditched practical models completely in favour of CGI, which would need to be remade from scratch. Not impossible to do, but time consuming and very expensive. Given the TNG remasters wound up losing money, the focus is now firmly on producing new content.

Given the TNG remasters wound up losing money, the focus is now firmly on producing new content. Those box sets were ungodly expensive, and piss poorly marketed. I remember everytime the new BD box set came out they’d have all the old DVD copies sitting beside them for like 1/4 the price of the Blu Ray so only the hardest of the hardcore fans were buying them. You could buy the entire series on DVD for less then the price of 2 season of the Blu Ray. Plus, streaming exploded while they were releasing the Blu Rays and the HD remasters became the standard version on streaming also dramatically hurting sales of later seasons. And Clerks. TAS isn’t on Blu Ray for a couple reasons, 1 being the rights to the show are a nightmare right now to the point that Kevin Smith doesn’t even know who to approach to do anything with the series anymore. The other main reason is that Clerks was never mastered in HD, a Blu Ray release would be the exact same quality as the DVD being upscale by your BD player. The only HD footage would be any new special features they shot for it, otherwise you’d have to reanimate the entire show.

I can remember when the first couple of seasons were released. I was hyped as hell, but then I was like "Do I really want to spend all that money on arguably the two worst seasons of any Trek series?"

I appreciate this Star Trek info.
I mentioned in another thread that I'm doing a complete Star Trek marathon, and I was curious why TNG somehow looked crisper and newer than DS9 and Voyager. I didn't realize TNG was remastered (I knew the Original Series was) and DS9 and Voyage werent. Makes more sense now.

They had originally planned on following up TNG by doing DS9, and presumably eventually Voyager, but TNG sold progressively worse as it went on so they cancelled plans for any further remasters beyond finishing TNG. And with Paramount+, if they haven’t announced any plans to remaster DS9 or Voyager by now I can’t imagine it ever happens unless they suddenly get a random explosion in popularity which seems unlikely, as neither is anywhere near as beloved as TOS or TNG

I say any TV show filmed and broadcast in HD. Did this include Criminal Minds, Scorpion and The Dead Zone? I have the DVD sets, but it’d be cool to upgrade for a good price.

Buffy the Vampire Slayer (and maybe Angel) but with the backlash surrounding the HD episodes are concerned, it won't be anytime soon.

'Cannibal: the Musical' because the original negative apparently is missing. I have a feeling a bunch of Troma stuff could apply here. Off the top of my head I just searched for Killer Nerd/Bride of Killer Nerd for this thread. All that popped up was the long out of print DVD.
