That’s sort of where I stand with it. Sure, I can get the comic and sometimes the comics do it better but I also feel like these things have the opportunity to be expressed well in different mediums or given a chance to be fine tuned to fix the problems of the original. Admittedly, I haven’t watched enough of those films to find that out but the MCU version of Civil War is a thousand times better than the comics because the movie didn’t have a robotic Thor killing people or Captain America surrendering by default because of collateral damage that he was suddenly aware of. and Hank Pym wasn't telling Spider-man that McCarthyism was a good thing actually... and like millions of other problems with Comic Civil War... I stand by literally every adaptation of Civil War is better than the comic. and that stands true for almost all of Millar's Work as a whole... Like, it’s not to say that things can’t go wrong, this review shows that (when it comes back up for what seems to be dumb reasons according to Linkara’s Twitter) but I’d rather see what someone else can do with something in another medium than stop that because one medium did it already. And yes, Matthew Vaughn having the clout to go “Yes, of course, we’ll adapt everything of two of Mark Millar’s works except all the worst aspects of them.”

Hell, Superman: Red Son comes off like someone went up to him and said “You put any sexual assault in this story, you’ll never write for this company ever again”.

Miller's Marvel Knights Spider-Man run is awesome too, probably the last decent thing he ever wrote for the big two.

So long as we're talking about Mark Millar works improved by adaptation, Kick-Ass is a way better movie than it is a comic.

Miller's Marvel Knights Spider-Man run is awesome too, probably the last decent thing he ever wrote for the big two. Mark Millar had a really great run on Fantastic Four at one point too... pre-going massive edgelord... or at least keeping his edgelord tendencies in check.

I feel like if he was acting in character Pym might have something to say something like "Tony as the resident AI expert here... maybe don't make a murder bot... it doesn't usually turn out well... not even getting into the fact it's a murderbot that looks like our dead friend... but... "

Anyone here heard of a youtube channel called Kinky Linky? It's a guy who's pretty much dedicated to exposing Linkara as a hypocrite, or just not a nice person in general?
I personally don't care for him even if I do agree Linkara has had a few cracks in his image over the years, but I was wondering what other people thought.

As an unofficial mod of sorts for these Megathreads, I’ll basically say that drama channel talk is not allowed. Like, if there are genuine controversies or opinions people want to point out, sure, but it’s really hard to take them and that content seriously. It also doesn’t really fit with the spirit of these things, you know.

Linkara begins his latest "Events Comics Month". I actually put a poll up a couple months back to see what you guys wanted him to review for this Event Comics Month. Sadly none of my picks won, although I am glad to see something like Armageddon 2001 made the cut. I feel these events of Linkara all too often focus on too much recent stuff and not enough on "classics" like this.
