Much like the wrestling
“Better as a face of heel”
Which actors do you find more entertaining (or prefer) one way or the other?
I was watching some old clips of John Lithgow and this guy is amazing as Dick Solomon. But man the difference between evil Dick and regular Dick is amazing. He just relishes in being a cartoonishly super evil type. When I watch him in movies like cliffhanger, I’m like “he’s such a bastard”. But I just prefer when I see him in roles just a nicer befuddled older man like Barney’s dad on how I met your mother, and Harry and the Hendersons. I still haven’t watched that season of Dexter he was on. Heard it was the best one

After watching “It could happen to you” for the first time, I’ve always looked at Nicholas Cage as a baby face despite his weirder villainous roles.

Try to push Gary Oldman as a face and you get Cody Rhodes. Ditch that, Gary Oldman would make Cody accepted as a face again.

Time After Time is pretty good film from 1979.
But it was weird seeing Malcolm McDowell playing the good guy in that film, especially cause around that time he usually played someone that was completely detestable… like in “A Clockwork Orange” or “Caligula”

Heel Alan Rickman knocks it out the park every time. His face roles are solid, but there’s not as much fun.

Has Harrison Ford ever played a heel? I know it’s old and we’re past “spoiler” territory but I’ll put it in tags anyway. {Spoiler}{SPOILER: CLICK TO SHOW}What Lies Beneath.

Has Harrison Ford ever played a heel? Han Solo shot poor Greedo without any warning. Total heel move if ever there was one.

From the late-'80s through to the early-'00s if you needed a sinister scumbag for your movie you could always rely on this guy: Try to push Gary Oldman as a face and you get Cody Rhodes. Ditch that, Gary Oldman would make Cody accepted as a face again. After his spell as Jim Gordon I have a hard time accepting Gary Oldman as a heel. The guy in Fifth Element, Léon, Air Force One, and True Romance might as well be a completely different actor.

With that voice, he is always going to be a bad guy I did like his small, not-quite villainous role in Alien: Resurrection, though he was still playing a scumbag. But yeah, he's got a villain's voice through-and-through.
