It's a bit of an odd situation. Lesnar, as a face, doesn't need Heyman. Lesnar has actually felt fresh, and not the same old, same old he's been for years. Shouldn't turn heel.

Reigns is in the zone and doing his best work as the heel. Definitely shouldn't turn face.

Heyman has to play a part in this Day 1 match, so I can't see him being written off.

I think the last time Heyman could be considered face was the two ECW ONS PPVs, maybe as far until he turned on RVD to align with Show.

That's my biggest fear. I think this story has been booked brilliantly and all three are doing some of their best work ever. That segment last night was great. I do not under any circumstances want to see Roman v Brock main event a third Wrestlemania though. I hope it's blown off at the Rumble or the February PPV.

I'm a little hopeful they won't stretch it to Wrestlemania though. The Wrestlemania main event is rarely if ever a match that was already done on TV or PPV that year. In the past decade:

37 Reigns/Edge/Bryan - 1st time ever match
37 Sasha/Bianca - 1st time ever match
36 Lesnar/McIntyre - 1st time ever match
36 Undertaker/Styles - 1st time ever match
35 Ronda/Becky/Charlotte - 1st time ever match
34 Lesnar/Reigns - Rematch from 3 years earlier
33 Undertaker/Reigns - 1st time ever match
32 HHH/Reigns - 1st time ever match
31 Lesnar/Reigns - 1st time ever match
30 Orton/Batista/Bryan - 1st time ever match
29 Rock/Cena - Rematch from previous year
28 Rock/Cena - 1st time ever match

Even the ones that had already happened were 1-3 years beforehand. If Roman/Brock was the planned main event I don't think they'd have booked it for Day 1 (or even Crown Jewel).

Although if they don't main event Wrestlemania I'm not sure who Roman would even face. They would obviously love it to be The Rock but I don't think that's a possibility for this year. McIntyre is probably the most credible babyface on Smackdown but he's spent the 5-6 months since crowds returned feuding with Jinder, Shanky, Veer, Corbin and Madcap Moss. That's a great way to kill anyone's momentum and make them not seem like a Wrestlemania main eventer. It's easier to see an alternate Wrestlemania path for Lesnar. It would be simple to have an altercation with Lashley at the Rumble and build a feud from there.
